If looking for a zen grocery experience, Eastern Market is the go-to. For one, there's a tremendous apple stand. Pink lady and golden crisps are top notch. And buy a jar of McCutcheon's honey inside.
Stop in and get your fresh pasta , and don't skimp on the fettucine or buccatini. Also, make sure to get sausages and paper-thin sliced meat from the deli up near the door next to the bakery - they're Read more
A really community-enriching experience. Very interesting art stalls and delicious food! I love coming here for apple cider or breakfast food on Sunday morning.
Great weekend market full of artisans , food, and antiques . Be sure to ask about the origin of the foods in the farmer's market ; not all the vendors use local produce .
Got the crab cake platter. There are massive chunks of crab in it and it tasted AMAZING. By far the best crab cake I've ever had. Highly recommended and would come back again. 10 out of 10!
The Latino Delight was delicious. My girlfriend got one with blue berries , peach , blackberries and sweet cheese . Phenomenal and affordable . Kept us full for about 4 hours.
Go there for lunch in the weekend. Have a walk in the appetizing stands and order some delicious crab cakes for your lunch which you can take at a table outside .
Browse for fresh produce , fish , meat, chicken . Scant offerings if you're looking for a lunch spot . Only Market Place and another sandwich place exist, with lines and not much seating at either spot.
Really amazing place. Sunday is the best time to go, all the venders are out.

A hot dog (or half-smoke) and chips from the meat vendor in the middle of the market is one of the best and cheapest eats in DC. His selection is always changing, sausage , hot-halfs...

Awesome outdoor marketplace . Tons of really cool vendors , great spot to buy a unique gift .
The market operated from 1873 until 2007. At the start of the 20th century the market was recognized as the unofficial "town center" of Capitol Hill . Badly damaged by fire in 2007, it reopened in 2009
Lots of great local vendors selling food, drinks, and craft items. A must for anyone new to DC!

The best half smokes in dc are NOT at Ben's. They are at the meat stand in Eastern Market. Only one of the stands has ready to eat dogs and smokes so you can't mistake it!
I love the variety and quality here. It is small enought to get to know the vendors . Become a regular!
If u want to enjoy your food there at the market make sure to bring your own plastic ware. The seafood lunch spot in the market will not share plastic ware.
The lemonade guy is the best! He can add strawberries , raspberries and all sorts of other fruit --so good! He's way in the back of the flea market section, don't miss him!
