Each week as many as 40,000 people flock to Eastern Market for its Saturday Market to enjoy one of the most authentic urban adventures in the United States. The market and the adjacent district are rare finds in a global economy - a local food district with more than 250 independent vendors.

One of the bright spots in Detroit. Huge open air market with fresh veggies , fruit , flowers , and other treats. Get there early on the weekend bc crowds can be brutal.
I always come here for scorpion peppers and blueberries . Makes the the best jelly on the planet. I always make sure to hit the distillery too. Top notch bourbon and whisky .
Great people and a lot of locally-grown food. What more can you ask? Great shops nearby, too: Cost Plus Wine Shoppe, DeVries & Co. for goods and cheeses , Rocky's penny candy , and Germack for nuts .
Get here early. Ride your bike so you don't have to worry about parking . Make sure to stop at Supinos for the best pizza and D'vries if you're feeling a little cheesy, all across from shed 2
this is by far the BEST place to get your veggies and herbs while exploring the "D".....its always alot of people you just might run into someone you havent seen in a while
Great weekend happening worth checking out! Cheap produce and flowers , most of it local. You won't leave hungry either- food trucks and deli/pizza places are right here
6-block public market . Great selections of fruits , veggies , fresh-cut flowers , homemade jams etc. Go there every other Saturday. Fun place to walk through and is very close to the Farmer's Restaurant
Really nice vendors on Sundays. Check out Motor City Soap, City Girl Soap and Detroit Scroll.
Show up early on Saturday mornings (before 10 a.m.), shop for your fruits and veggies and bread and such. Then when you're finished, stop by Russell Street Deli or Germack Coffee !
Go early in the morning to get the best looking produce and later in the afternoon for the best prices. Prices are always great even at their worst though.
Saturday's Farmers Market - Great to see people and walk around. Lots of people out.
Specialty stores like Berry 's Lamb store. Devries sausage and cheese . . Rocky Peanut , etc.
Urban farming lives on in Detroit's Eastern Market. People from around the city come to enjoy the market and its many goods, including those from Will Gardner, interviewed in AMERICA REVEALED.
You might find good deals if you come later. Sometimes the vendors have hot dates that they want to go home to and want to sell their produce at discounted rates.
It can get very crowded , but there are lots of vendors if you are coming to shop for groceries . There were even a few live musicians .

Stop in at the Coney with the yellow painted front next to the peanut store for the best breakfast in a 20 mile radius. Also go as early as you can for the best stuff!
Eastern Market has been feeding Detroit since 1891. Public market hours are 7am-4pm every Saturday, but stores in the district are open throughout the week.

Tuesday from 11 a.m til 7 p.m is really fun. Meet and greet. The stall have fresh vegetables and fruits .
Stop by the Peoples Pierogi Collective and get Pierogis (with Cheese ) and a side of Sauerkraut/Sausage!
