This used to be the R. Hirt Jr. Company or "the awesome cheese shop in eastern market ". It's bigger now, more spacious but still has the same great stuff you kept going back for.

Am European and have been going there since 1975, Always got cheeses , I could not find anywhere else. - David's tidbit: E.Market was a cemetery before!!!
Their elevator is the oldest continuous running in Detroit. Works on a pulley system w/no electricity.
