Daingerfield Island

Oft overlooked little gem of a spot to relax on a nice day. Watch the boats, planes , and fish swim by and zen out.

If you go South from here, i.e., facing the highway, take the trail going LEFT, you will go towards Old Town Alexandria. Further S is Mount Vernon , but it's long and mostly uphill!

If you go North from here, i.e., facing the highway, take the trail going RIGHT, you will go towards Gravelly Point, where you can watch the planes take off and land. Further N is Arlington Cemetery .

Great Nature and walking/biking areas.

The marina is a pretty place along the water to walk.

Nice place to relax between sites and enjoy a picnic lunch !

The bike ride from Dangerfield to Mt. Vernon is a must-do.

On bike trail on way to Bethesda

Stay away from the overflow parking lot . It's a high traffic area for dudes looking for other dudes
