Fantastic tour provided by U.S. Navy Sailors. A definite must do for anyone that is interested in the history of our nation and Navy.
Built in Boston and launched in 1797, this is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. In the early 1800s, the 44-gun Constitution fought Barbary pirates off the coast of North Africa.
A great historical site . Sometimes re-enactments are performed there. A great place to visit with friends or family members, especially around the Fourth of July. I took the ship tour .
I was a little claustrophobic on the bottom level. Very neat and definitely one of my favorite things we did on our vacation.
For over 200 years she has defeated Barbary pirates, the British, and the looming spectre of the scrap yard to become a living, floating museum of incomparable value.
Definitely worth the wait to stand and line in order to walk the deck of one of the first shops commissioned by George Washington
Climb aboard and learn why they call her Old Ironsides. With daily self-guided or group tours led by a member of the US Navy, experience all the world's oldest commissioned war ship has to offer.

One of the first battleships to have her hull clad in iron. One of the veterans of the failed attempt to break the Royal Navy blockade during the 1812-14 war.
Is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. Starting in 1907 the USS Constitution began to serve as a museum ship with tours offered to the public.
When you go downstairs, ask the sailors for the USS Constitution history and how it was operated. It’s free and they are passionate story tellers. ????????????????????????
Make sure you have a valid state or government issues ID with you. And no weapons of any kind. They treat boarding it as if you we're boarding a plane . Metal detector and all
Don't forget to go in the museum while its in dry dock and etch your name in the copper which will be installed on the ship !
Visit the USS Constitution and its museum . It’s the oldest commissioned warship still afloat in the world, and it’s worth a visit. Read more
The USS Constitution is the oldest active warship in the world. Free tours are moderated by US sailors, and are available daily.
Self guided tour is not worth it. However, Guided tours are free every half hour, given by serving members of the Navy who are stationed at USS Constitution. They are brilliant!
During the War of 1812, British cannonballs bounced off the ship’s oaken hull, earning it the nickname “Old Ironsides.” It later made its first around-the-world journey in 1846. (From Aerial America) Read more
Come in the winter during bad weather when no one is there and you might get a special tour behind the scenes. If in the summer come early on like a Tuesday
Awesome piece of U.S History and a must see in Boston
Towards the end of Freedom Trail you are here. It is a bit of a hike from the pre-bridge trail but well worth it
Make sure to go when the boat is open for tours . Otherwise you can’t even get a good view of it from the dock.
The navy seamen on hand to explain the history of the ship are very informative, as is the small museum .
Wonderful piece of U.S. history that you can get up close to. Very cool!
The museum and exhibits are definitely for kids, but whatevs. Still cool.
When visiting the @USSConstitution you may should also tour this modern @USNavy Battleship
Don't sit down on the boat in white pants. Other than that it is well worth waiting for the guided tour .
You're almost finished! After visiting Old Ironsides, finish the Freedom Trail by walking the last half mile to the Bunker Hill Monument .
It's obviously cool for history buffs, but the area around the ship is a total eye sore. They need to unload stuff further away from the dry dock .
Take your kids while learning history enjoy the view
Summer hours - Tues-Sun 10-6. Check out the Constitution Experience on Tuesday mornings, see their website for more info.
There's a long wait to go on a guided tour during peak hours, apparently. Try going closer to when they open if you want a guide (you should).
As of June 2015 this is currently dry docked . You can see it but you cannot board it.
It was closed when we got there. They make it so you really can't see anything unless your inside. Took a picture threw the fence.
This was such a cool ship to board and hear information about.
My visit was a little disappointing because you could only go on the top deck. The inside of the ship was closed.
Take the free 30 minute tour . It's informative and the only way to see the lower decks.
You have to have a passport and to go through metal detectors. It's free????
Take a guided tour to go below deck. It's worth it, despite being kinda corny.
Just one tip: bring ur ID!!!
Very interesting take the guided tour if you can.
Think of the thousands of sailors that have served on the ship ! Thank you
Make sure to get down n view inside of it
Interesting, but a bit off the beaten path.

10% of the part of the ship underwater is original. That's all.
OK, I am a naval history buff and ex-Navy guy myself but still, a visit to this historic ship (old ironsides) is time well spent when you're in Boston.
