"Don't fire 'til you see the whites of their eyes" - the well-known command given during the Bunker Hill battle.
I imagine on a sunny day the view over Boston is spectacular. I went on a rainy day, and you could still see a lot. It's 295 steps so make sure you're full of energy!
If you're looking for a good workout, visit early and see how quickly you can climb the 294 steps to the top! This may be America's original StairMaster! ;)
Beautiful park to relax. Be wary of the climb - it’s about 300 steps and you have to pass people on the narrow stairway! Worth it though, in my opinion.
Very cool historic location. Recommend visiting.
Consider before rushing in the monument itself, it is 279 steps . At the top there is tiny chamber with sweaty people and windows covered with scratched plastic.
Great view of Boston if you walk the 294 steps up the monument and a relaxing park , not too overcrowded.
This monument commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill , where the famous command "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" was issued. The ambitious visitor may climb the 295 steps to the top.
Bring your walking shoes for this one! It's almost 300 steps to the top but it's completely worth it (and also completely free!)
Revolutionary things to do here: climb 294 steps to enjoy one of Boston’s best views and secondly resist temptation to utter the immortal line , “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!”
294 steps can challenge even the most athletic so make sure to pace yourself. However it's definitely worth it to see the beautiful views of the city
The 294 steps to the top of the monument is worth the view from the top.
Great view of the city if you're willing to trudge up 294 steps . It gets quite difficult to pass people towards the top

Monument to the early revolutionary war where the British army took Charlestown peninsula from the colonists but at a huge cost.
Pivotal battle in U.S history. Although we lost; the militiamen decimated the British on his hill .
This engraving depicts the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill , where inexperienced colonial soldiers first proved they were willing and able to stand up to regular British troops in a pitched battle. Read more
The walk to the top takes a toll on those that aren't the most fit, but the view is worth it.
This is quite a workout. Take your time, and don't try to climb it if you have health problems. The view is fantastic.
It's a great gluteal and leg workout with amazing views !
Visit the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown and stand in the space where we first took a stand in the American Revolution.
Always a great time here. Hope they reopen the steps soon!
Get ready for 294 steep granite steps . Feels like you're climbing a castle tower though so it's worth it!
Really cool place. And decent view at the top of the tower.
Amazing Monument check it out during the early morning it's beautiful.

View from the top is totally worth the 294 stairs so man up and get climbing!
The view from the top is great, if you survive the climb to the top xD
Beautiful view at night. Just be careful of the local dog walkers.
Best view of Boston , if you can survive the stairs to the top.
Such a cool place, there was a demonstration of how muskets were fired when I was there
Great part of Freedom Trail
The climb to the top up 300 stairs was hard. Views were decent.
Fantastic view of the city .
Allow 4 hours to meander the trail . Stop for lunch at the tavern on the water! Then make your way to Bunker Hill and lounge in the sun :)
Climb it. You must.
The monument is worth the climb, even if 292 stairs seem like too many.
Completed in 1843, it is one of the oldest monuments in the USA
Relaxing spot in a very beautiful garden .
The grass is beautiful and makes for a perfect hill to roll down!
Make sure you climb to the top - the views from all 4 sides are amazing!

Nice view , interesting landmark
If you don't like heights don't dare do the stairs . The top is tiny and has a grate that looks down to the bottom.
Make sure to listen to Patrick Jennings 30 min history talk, amazing!
A definite spot to stop on the Freedom Trail .
It's eerie to stand there. We took the National Parks Service tour and it was great. The costumed tours tell you the folk legends. The NPS tells you the facts. Their guides have history backgrounds. - Kevin
Cool shops and of course tou can get your National Parks stamp here! - Jeffrey Giles
