When I'm in California I'm at the Casbah, and when I'm in New York this is where you'll find me.
Similar set up and size to Music Hall of Williamsburg: solid acts and it allows fans to head upstairs to escape the the crowd and snag a few beers . Great spot for shows (and close to subways!)
My favorite concert venue in NY. Great acoustics , w/ an intimate feel. They do a great job of booking indie bands that complement the space. Don't forget to check out the balcony !
It is a great venue. I came here to see Kiasmos and Beacon, and the atmosphere downstairs was very intimate . Upstairs, everything was definitely amazing.
An awesome, intimate venue . A sold out show will never be overcrowded. The downstairs bar is cool, too.
Any venue I rate, I say they're a great place to see live music . But Bowery Ballroom is by & far one of the greatest. Whether your on the floor or up in the balcony , you're sure to have a great time.
Great bands come through this venue, and the balcony section is pretty great (don't worry it has a bar !)
Head to the balcony , the views and sound are great from up there, you can avoid the crowds on the floor (if you want to) and you can get a drink quick from the bar up there.
Converted into a music venue in 1997, the Bowery Ballroom features artists from all genres. It's very spacious and the balcony is a great place to take it all in!
Hands down the best venue to see live music in the city . I've been coming here over 10 years and can't imagine the music scene without it.
Get there early to grab a spot on the balcony right behind the soundboard . You’ll have the perfect view and nobody will knock into your drink.
My favorite venue in NYC. Never crowded even when sold out, amazing stage views and little to no wait for drinks. What's not to like?
Favorite mid-size music venue in New York. Consistently draws in the best indie bands. If the show you want is sold out, try Music Hall of Williamsburg (they usually play there too).
Intimate small concert venue in the heart of the Lower East Side that has a variety of craft beers on tap
I've been coming here for over a decade now, and it's still one of the best places to see a show that I've ever been to.
Walk a few blocks over to the corner of Kenmare and Mulberry and check out Toby's Public House. They have the best brick-oven pizza and wood-fired specialties, great drinks and an awesome atmosphere!
Such a great venue! Can't tell you how much I appreciate a good show AND being able to get to the bar / bathroom without trampling / shoving people. Makes the experience 10x better.
Came here for an event and loved the space. Downstairs room for lounging around and upstairs for dancing (lots of room). A lot of women’s bathroom too ????????
Much respect for Vanessa behind the bar - a pro - one of the (amazingly) few bartenders in NYC that knows how to make a vodka gimlet the right way
Great place to catch a band before they get famous. Small, intimate venue . Seats along the balcony if you get early enough but you really want to be down on the floor.
Really intimate venue . You will feel almost as if you are part of the band.
Did you know that the beautiful Bowery Ballroom was first constructed as a high end retail store in 1929?
Snag a table upstairs and pretend you're a VIP or grab a drink in the basement to take a break from the noise. Fantastic sound and great sightlines make this a downtown favorite. Read more
I think this has the best sound out of all the Bowery Presents venues. It is a nice, semi-big space where great bands play.
The best sound around Front left to avoid b smart &don't push the ladies dudes. If the chick behind you is teeny tiny be nice & let her in front of your 6'6" badass self she'll be super greatful!
One of the best music venues in NY. It books great bands, both well known and up-and-coming. If you’re curious about an artist , this is where you seem them. And it does not oversell the space!! Read more
This place is very spacious . Downstairs is where you can get a drink and listen to music and upstairs you are up close and personal to the stage and crowd.
This New York mainstay is a must for any indie music fan. Don't leave too soon after the show because you can usually catch the talent having a drink at the end of the night in the downstairs bar .
My favorite place to see a concert in NYC. Great sound, great staff , good atmosphere. Love it
This is a wonderful venue for seeing artists . The show will be excellent but you'll still feel close to the band.

My favorite small/medium size venue in NYC. Definitely see a show here if you have the chance!
One of the remaining classic NYC style venues. Has a cool bar area in the lower floor.
Awesome music venue in SoHo. Gets very good acts but has a more intimate atmosphere with the performers .
Get here when doors open or you will be stuck waaay in the back.
Who would have thought that an old department store would turn into one of the city 's best music venues ? Established in 1997, the Bowery Ballroom quickly become a mecca for indie-rock fans.
The Bowery Ballroom can be tricky, because of its layout. First you go downstairs, then head for the back left corner of the bar area for the stairwell to the venue. Don't go other ways! Read more
My new favorite spot for shoes . It's set up similarly to Terminal 5 with the second level but much more intimate .
This is a classic among music venues in NYC, one small ones have to say, but with a lot of magic within its walls.
This venue is the perfect size and has several nice bars with quick service . Catch your favorite up-and-coming indie band here before they get too popular to play such an intimate club.

One of the last intimate ballrooms in NYC to see some up and coming acts
Great venue. Decent drink options that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
If you absolutely need a crappy sound system for your show, play here. That said, I like the place overall for reasons mentioned by others.
Awesome live music. Gets crowded. Food is quick & delicious for snacking. - Jackie Mucilli
