GAP MILE 71- Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece , built in 1935, partially cantilevered out over a small waterfall in quiet woods. It is a very hilly 4 miles bike ride from Ohiopyle, but well worth it!
Really cool. they have both a 1-hr and a 2-hour docent-led tour . the latter is booked up months in advance but the 1 hr is perfect.

The longer tour is pricey but absolutely worth it if you are really into frank Lloyd right, area history and architecture .

If driving via Route 40, pay close attention to the turn at 318/Farmington-Ohiopyle Rd. It's EASY to miss and there are no heads-up signs to indicate you're anywhere near Fallingwater.
The tour guide wasn't the greatest with info but the house is amazing & must see for those that like architecture & design.
For those who want to pick up the Lego architecture of the Falling Water, don't get it at the gift shop , it's a lot cheaper at barnes and noble :)
Many pretentious people around, but the house is awesome. I've never seen anything like it. Just try to block out all the prissiness and you'll have a good time
Tons of rhododendron on property. We went on July 3rd and all the flowers had come off - go earlier - the flowers would be awesome!

While you're in the area, don't forget about the other FLW house Kentuck Knob. Very close by and much cheaper admission. Can easily do both in the same day.

Absolutely beautiful in the winter when there's snow on the ground . Stop by the cafe after your tour to warm up with a cup of coffee and a snickerdoodle .

Make certain to use the restrooms in the visitors center, you aren't permitted to use the restrooms in the house itself.

If you have young children, go on the family tour at 1.30 pm. Reservations by phone only. Once a year, end of summer, there is a special twilight tour .

If you're checked in here, chances are, you aren't actually here. Getting cell reception is nearly impossible!
During the Summer, and especially on big weekends, make your reservations in advance using their website. Tours can fill up before noon!
Make sure you check out the famous view and also the less popular "birds eye view ". Path is near the stairs for the visitor's center.

Mid-October provides beautiful fall colors and mild temperatures. Definitely make a reservation in advance to avoid a long wait .
