Very good. Maybe not as good as the elevated NY reputation. Get the good morning & spicy redneck . In the BLT, the lettuce and tomato overpower the dog. Think Destination Dogs or Bark are better.
We ordered a Crif pack, i liked the idea that the hot dog types are randomly chosen, it's exciting. The Tsunami, Jon Jon Deragon , Philly tube steak & the tots were all amazing. Waffle fries were bad.
If you want Crif’s best dish: The Chang Dog, a deep fried hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with fiery kimchi , arrive after midnight if you want to get into PDT. Read more
The sublime Spicy Redneck ($4.75), for example, is a house dog wrapped in bacon and topped with cole slaw , chili , and jalapeños , but every bite is in harmony, the whole obviously prepared with love. Read more
Get the Chihuahua hot dog (Bacon wrapped crif dog covered with avocado & sour cream ), the Philly Tubesteak (crif dog covered in cheese & sautéed onions chili cheese fries ) & chili cheese fries or tots
This is the place to experiment with your Dog toppings! We’re fans of the jon-jon (cream cheese , scallions & everything bagel seeds) and the spicy red neck (bacon , chili , cole slaw & jalapenos ).
Perfect for those late night munchies . All of their bacon-wrapped deep fried hot dogs are great, but I love the Tsunami, Spicy Redneck , and Jon-Jon Deragon best. Read more on WinstonWanders below!! Read more
We did all the delicious sober work for you, and ate/ranked all 19 of the dogs they've got on hand, from the corn , to all things bacon-wrapped, to the veggie , just because we had to. Read more
Sometimes you just need a gourmet hot dog . And when that happens I like to head to Crif Dog. The John John Derragon (wrapped in bacon ) is my favorite, but peruse the menu and see what catches your eye
Delicious hot dogs , interesting flavor combinations, fast service & cheap = winning combination. The phone booth leads to a speak easy , they also serve hot dogs from crifs that are not offered outside
Great spot for a late night hot dog . The dogs a bit larger than the standard Nathan's hot dog . The seating area is small and I recommend going on off-hours.
"Get the Jon-Jon Deragon Dog hot dog at Jim Meehan's bar attached to Crif Dog, which comes with cream cheese , scallions , and everything bagel seeds. I wish I’d thought of it!" - Chef Wylie Dufresne Read more
I love this place, everyone should love this place. If you don't love this place I hate you. I generally go with at least a Good Morning, but have never had anything I didn't like
AWESOME dogs! Mostly famed for what's behind the phone booth , this hotdog shop is top dog (forgive the terrible pun). Excellent quality, awesome menu, amazing atmosphere, and delicious!
Amazing alternative for PDT. Once I realized I could be eating a hot dog draped in pepperoni and drinking a miller high life, the need to go to the speakeasy lost it's appeal! Amazeballs!
Oh baby those cheese tots !!!! A small order is pretty big. And any bacon wrapped dog, especially the Lil Ma, which had peanut butter and pickles and potato chips (pregnancy craving joke?).
The hot dogs are amazingly delicious here. Definitely a place to go back to and eat especially with a group of friends. Even go on a date, the atmosphere there is great
They make some of the best hotdogs in the City . You can go basic or try one of their fancy dogs. Can't go wrong but you should consider ordering 2 or 3.
My favorite way to eat a hot dog is with sauerkraut , now I have a second favorite---with bacon , Thank you Crif Dogs, Thank you very much!---and your fries are awesome too!
Try. Sour Cheese dog with an egg and mustard . I have at least 3 a week:) Also, the staff are amazing; don't forget to tip them. They totally deserve it.
You haven't lived until you've been to Crif Dogs. Minimize the calorie bomb and conquer breakfast AND lunch with the Morning Jersey: a deep-fried frank wrapped in Taylor ham , topped w/ a fried egg .
New Yorkers love hot dogs , duh. Now you can enjoy unique combinations of ingredients all for under $5. Make sure to try the Good Morning-bacon wrapped dog smothered with melted cheese and a fried egg
For two persons I recommend one hot dog each one and one large fries or tater tots to share. The "good morning" and "Chihuahua" are great options!
Very packed of drunk ppl, but this is the place you need to go in order to call and to get in the please don't tell speak easy , their dogs are not too bad.
Secret bar (pdtnyc.com), so secret they take reservations ;) entrance through a phone booth in the hotdog place
The Chihuahua and the Spicy Redneck are great. The tater tots are also worth it. Also there is a secret speakeasy entrance in the phonebooth ; ) go in and pick up the phone.
While there are hot dog staples for traditional hot dogs (Nathans, Papaya Dog, etc.), these are the best gourmet hot dogs in all of New York City .
TSUNAMI! You can never go wrong at Crif Dogs - wonderful selection but cramped space. But what do you expect when eating a hot dog ? Gourmet Dining??? It's worth the trip to the East Village .
One of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Perfect texture dog, great ingredients, awesome menu. Thrives on cool so don't expect much customer service.
Very cool place. Great hot dogs and tots
In what is surely Manhattan’s coolest phone booth , you’ll find the only public entrance to PDT…(if you don’t know, we won’t tell.) Just walk into the booth , pick up the phone and press a button Read more
Jon-Jon Deragon. Small tots . (2 locations/truck) Then Tony & David Chang enter the hidden entrance to Please Dont Tell bar located next door for a few drinks and more dogs: Momofuku dog. Wiley dog.
tots v waffle fries ? get both, cover with cheez, and grab a PBR tall boy for good measure. look at you, hot stuff.
always an interesting night at crif dogs. most dogs will run you about five dollars.
Evey position in menu is perfect, it everything! :) and check the fries with chease and chilli :)
For hotdogs , they are very good. Spicy redneck and Philly tubesteak.

What night in East Village doesn’t end at Crif Dogs (esp. for a night cap ????). Chihuahua and spicy red neck. Cheese tots always.
An essential food experience. Hot dogs which combine crazy flavours and deviate from the classic ketchup/mustard.
Awsome dogs. My Favorite is the Spicy Redneck . Bacon wrapped with chili coleslaw and Jalapeño peppers .
Best #hotdog in New York. They fry all their dogs and cook them special. Get one loaded up with chili and bacon . Go next door to PDT to get designer dogs from famous chefs (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Good for casual , cheap lunch . Fast service . Portion just enough, good value . No bathrooms to wash hands after messy food ????
Grab one of the best hot dogs you'll ever have while you wait for PDT. Both are excellent and well worth the lines/wait time.
Cool hot dog place. An old fashion phone booth is placed in there as well . Make the call!!!!
Always get the spicy redneck . It's so good that I devour it in two bites. Crunchy coleslaw and bacon FTW!!!
My favorite late night eat in NYC. No better place for after a night of drinking in Alphabet City .
Fried, bacon-wrapped hot dogs are a speciality at this oddball wiener joint. (Head through the phone booth to bar PDT in the back.)
Creatively-adorned hot dogs are this late-night spot’s jam . Branch out from the usual ketchup and mustard routine into fried eggs , cream cheese and even Jalapeno peppers .
Great place for a first chilli dog , it's a cool joint with a sense of humour.
Tots and cocktails. You can't go wrong with that. Great place. - RC
Cheap, yummy, can't go wrong. Skinny hot dogs and good sauerkraut. - Ariane Rinehart
Great stop for a late night quick bite. Highlights are the French fries, hot dogs, and juices. You can't beat the prices - Sara ????⚔????
Do yourself a favor and come here. Awesome sausages and beer in a really cool space - Nate Linsky
Maybe the best bagel in the city. My favorite, at least. Open Sesame bagel sandwich is so good. Definitely worth a visit, even on a crowded weekend morning. Bring cash! - Jordan Lee
