Best time to visit is around December- late January (?) check the sanctuary’s website for details. Come around noon-3pm, the butterflies are the most active when it is warm.
Beautiful natural setting. Stayed at inn there and staffs were nice. Plus free breakfast and close to cannery row.

between December and March each year, Monarch butterflys cluster high in the Eucalyptus trees and lay their eggs on the undersides of the Milkwood leaves. Sometimes you can see thousands in flight.
Wait for docents! Don't go without docents. Use the docents.
