Don't be deceived by the name: they're much more than pineapple tarts , with a wide range of nonya food. Small selection of dishes and not everything is available every day. But the food is very good
Most popular dishes available daily except: lontong (Tue, Thu, Sun), laksa (Wed, Sat), chicken curry (Tue), chicken rendang (Thu, Sun), Assam fish (Wed, Sat), curry pork ribs (Fri)
Kueh pie tee good, with plump prawns ! The turnip mixture was very well drained - the most well drained I've had. The dish was well balanced & had a good crispy shell. The chili was good: sweet & sour
Pork rib curry good. Pretty spicy , with unique spice blend. Star anise flavour strong. Nonya chap chye good: tasty with plump mushrooms . They use basmati rice here, which was very unusual. It was ok
Chendol for $4.90. Another pricey item. It's generous (chendol bits, red beans , kidney beans , attap seeds) and gula melaka was fragrant. But coconut milk used smelled & tasted processed/artificial
The rempah udang snack ($2) is delicious. The spicy dried prawn filling is both savoury & aromatic. Would order again
It’s as if you have a Peranakan granny cooking for you. The kueh kuehs and dishes are above average. Beef rendang , dry meesiam, tahu goreng , Hokkien bakzang all good.
The best tasting Nonya Bak Chang I've had in a long time. Still uses the traditional Bungah Telang coloring for the dumplings . A must try when you're here.
While many rave over the pie tee and assam fish , those were slightly above average for the price you pay. The only dishes worth your money and effort in making are the ayam keluak and beef rendang .
They get away with charging $5.80 for a simple plate of Nasi Lemak . While they use bismati rice , & chilli paste was good, the rest were just average (omelette , fried chicken wings , ikan bilis )
dry mee siam and nasi lemak are good. parents like this place :) more pics and details at http://www.eatprayflying.com/nyonya-food-review-makko-teck-neo-telok-blangah/ :)
Kueh salat decent. Pineapple tarts pretty expensive . Very crumbly. Maybe too crumbly: with transport, they broke off. Pineapple jam good, though a touch dry - but they probably keep better due to this
Great tasting pernakan food. Beef rendang , gado-gado, Kueh pie-tee, ngoh hiang, ayam buah keluak
It's at the end of Block 35, next to the wet market
Try the buah keluak pork ribs . Very good and tender too.
Excellent Nasi Lemak and pineapple salad ( cucumber and pineapple ) .
Hi Tech Ordering from a local auntie. The power of tech applied to everyday life.
Fairly crowded in weekend lunch so come early for the air-con area to avoid disappointment.
They took over the shop beside them n now have more indoor seats. But prices have also gone up
A cash or NETS only establishment
Nonya chicken pongteh n Kueh Pie Tee is very good.
The dry mee siam is very spicy
Don't like the Patin fish used in their Assam Fish and was told by the lady assistant that next time before ordering better to ask what type of fish they are using .
Food & service here is really good..thumbs up!!
Mee siam is rich with coconut .
Dry Mee Siam
