Make reservations early! They get so busy at dinner that they even turn away take out orders! Steamed halibut , steam chicken with lotus seeds and yam paste worth a try.
Friendly boss , it's this little thing that make dining experience to another level. Love their kway teow , ribs and prawn roll . Orh nee is nice too
Delish Chicken w lotus seed , braised duck n excellent fried Kway Teow w dried radish . Reservations needed. Opens 1130am
The Yam paste with gingko nuts n pumpkin was so so too. Though it wasn't too sweet, I find the paste too 'smooth' it lacked the traditional texture n taste compared with 'Swatow Restaurant ' ages ago .
Disappointing braised duck for a teochew restaurant . But radish kwayteow was delicious, so was the jelly pork .
Overall the service here is not bad even when they are very busy. The guy who took our order, think he's the old boss's son or relative was nice ????????????
The prawn n liver rolls were so so ... Have tasted nicer ones at some other similar restaurants
They ran out of lotus chicken but was replaced by chestnut chicken , this was not bad even though the chestnuts were not fresh ones (use pre-packed ones) stewed with the chicken . Still acceptable .
Popular Teochew fare.Reservation a must. The or-nee (yam paste dessert ) is the most authentic I've ever tasted. No slathering of coconut milk or sweet corn ,just fried shallot oil, pumpkin purée n gingko
The radish flat rice noodles had a smoky smell which I thot it was burnt but they say its their speciality ???? however, it lacked the 'wok' flavor
The flaming pork ribs were ok but some pieces had too much starch costed on the meat , however it tasted ok ????
Not as fantastic, the oysters wasn't fresh, in fact it turned bad already. Moreover it was too starchy n not fragrant . I won't recommend ????
Super friendly boss ! Must try their Kuay Teow with Radish and their yam paste with ginko! Not oily nor it's too sweet!!
Fucking lousy service , never ever go for this restaurant . Getting a spoon or chopstick proved to be impossible until u are fed up. Again, never go here.
Our family favourites: Trotters with Black Vinegar (lovely taste), Monkey Head Mushroom fried with Dried Chilli (delicious!), Cereal Tofu (shiok homemade texture and fragrant), Minced Meat Eggplant - Cheen The Curious
More expensive than the other nearby stall. 1 chicken leg, 2 vegs and rice cost 5.40. Serving style not as great too. - Elizabeth Koh
Nice place to have a decent hair cut! The collectible stuffs on the wall and all around the saloon would definitely amaze you. - Suvega Srinivasan
An Italian Dolcetto d'alba goes very well with the teochew style braised goose. Excellent combination ! - Sean CSW
Authentic Teochew cuisine at reasonable prices. Cold crab is a must - Vincent Tan
My all time favorite - Crispy Nonya Tauhu! The nonya cabbage roll - T. SY
Very old school shopping centre. Don't see many of them these days. Go for house of seafood here. - Elizabeth Lee
