Great Buddha of Kamakura

Did you know that you don't have to pay to get in? It's considered a "Recommended Donation". But if you don't pay you don't get a handy brochure and you will feel guilty. So pay up, cheapskate!! ;-)

Absolutely beautiful. You can see I believe the second largest Buddah statue here. You can also go inside the statue for 20 yen but there's not much to see in there.

Amazing Buddha statue . The second largest in Japan and definitely worth a visit.

It’s about 13,35 m tall and weights about 93 tons, which makes it the second bigger Buddha in Japan after the one in Nara.

Awesome sight, recommend paying the additional 30 yen to enter inside the Buddha .

Must-see in Kamakura. You can go inside for an additional 20Yen. There’s nothing much to see inside but if you’re curious 20Yen probably won’t hurt too much.

The statue is quite big, but not big enough. Entry is cheap . Statue looks dirty . You can go inside the statue . Lots of shade.

Ironic that the statue is 'hollow' but worth the walk around Kamakura.

For 10 yen you can go inside the Buddha .
