This tiny park on the border of the West Village and Meatpacking is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and maybe even get some work done (free WiFi !).
Selections From The Modern Landscape by artist Kenneth Pietrobono uses botanical signage to rename existing plant life of the park to reflect the cultural environment. See it until September 2, 2013. Read more
It's assumed that this park is named after President Andrew Jackson, since "Jackson Square" was first mentioned by newspapers in the 1850s, shortly after Jackson's death in 1845.

This park is a triangle because two of the sides (Gansovort St and Greenwich Ave) were formerly Native American footpaths used to get to a trading post on the Hudson River .
