Chena Hot Springs Resort

Great place if you're trying to catch Aurora Borealis . If the sky is clear, the tour offered is not required - you can watch it from the darker places. Ice museum is awesome!

We visited mid Dec 2023 and was not crowded on weekdays. Off the back of the activities center is the Aurora Room. This pic is from that space open 24 hrs where you can watch for the Northern lights .

Must visit the Ice Museum/Bar/Hotel when you visit and spurge on a Appletini in a handcrafted ice glass. They make 17,000 of these a year.

Ice Hotel ! Ice Bar ! Indoor and outdoor hot springs-fed pools (which are quite nice!) Japanese tourists ! A 65 mile drive straight east of Fairbanks, but so worth it. The drive is great too.

It is one of the places to view the Aurora borealis from. They have swim suits and towels that can be borrowed from the front desk. It costs $10 per person and you can swim in the hot springs all day.

Definitely a bit touristy but a SOLID hot springs resort with tons of interesting geothermal research/applications and great hiking nearby.

We had a great stay Toured the ice museum a must see. took a snow coach and saw the Auroa Lights Soaked in the Hot Springs Accomodations were excellent! Highly Recommend Chena.

The geothermal powerplant and greenhouse tour was really cool (and free)!

This place is more of a tourist trap, but it does offer some good activities. Avoid the springs and do other activities such as biking or the ice museum .

It's actually 56.5 miles out on Chena hot springs road . No wi-fi or cell reception

A hundred year old gold camp, now a resort . Japanese friendly ! Try the outdoor hot springs pool and hot tubs in the winter.

The fresh grown lettuce& tomatoes are amazing!!!! Jenni is the best& most enthusiastic waitress !!!!! :-)

It is a huge scam. We literally had 10 times better service at WENDY's. Everything is overpriced and they added and additional charge at checkout and refused to even let us talk to a manager about it.

No wifi ! No cell phone reception! No phone in the room!

The rock pool is nice. Gorgeous flowers from the greenhouse in summer... Veggies for the restaurant , too. And now they do have cell service. Watch for moose on your way out here.
