Old Stone House

Completely free! And classy souvenirs. Wonderful piece of history with easy-to-understand signs. While the garden isn't as grand as Dumbarton Oaks, it certainly is less crowded (and free).

Said to be Washington DC’s oldest surviving building. The materials used for the house are comprised of local quarried materials and ballast stones that came off English sailing vessels.

Pierre Charles L'Enfant, who designed Washington DC, rented a room here. He and George Washington held their planning meetings nearby.

Great place to sit and eat cupcakes . Pull out a blanket and curl up with a boo...or friends. Either way

They sometimes have free walking ghost tours near dusk.

Considered the oldest house in Georgetown, built in 1765 for Christopher Lehman. Restored by Hausaman in 1956-58.
