Come early in the morning before the crowds arrive & rent a boat. Shop & eat delights sold by the merchants paddling down the congested canals . If you see coconut or coconut ice cream , get it.
It a must-see near Bangkok area but should be visited early morning. Should try local fruits sold by the merchants on the boat. Must bargain before buying something...
Meat on a stick is Thainess. What better place to enjoy grilled meats than on the floating markets seen in James Bond's "The Man with the Golden Gun".
I thoroughly enjoyed the floating market . Worth the 2000 baht per person . It’s around a 2 hour boat trip. Food and drink available en route
Nice market where you can take a boat tour on the river and life the experience Take a 6 hours tour from Bangkok to here which include visiting Maeklong Railway Market .
Perfect place to explore Traditional Thai lifestyle. Take a boat tour half an hour is worthy price is only 300 baht for traditional padding or 700 baht for engine boat.

James Bond is chased through the floating markets in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by a boat-full of martial artists after he escapes their training camp. They're soon left swimming in the klongs
Good cultural experience. Food is slightly more expensive but still okay for the experience. I liked the spicy Pad Thai and the Coconut Ice Cream .
An unique experience not to be missed but it come with a price.Boat ride are too expensive .Nearly all products are over price & please equipped yourself with bargain skills.Beware it’s a tourist trap !
Theirs a lot of travel agencies in Bangkok that offer tour packages like floating market , temple tours and elephant ride and you just have to negotiate with them. There's few that offers discount . ????
The market opens early in the morning at 7am and closes at noon. You can charter a boat for around 150 Baht per person per hour once you enter the area. I recommend hiring a car to drive you there!
Bargain as much as you can. Prices drop from 2.000 bahs to 150. Awesome experience. By the end of the walking pier you can get a private paddle boat for 300 bahs an hour!
Vendors usually start at 3 or 4 times the intrinsic price so don't hesitate to haggle to ridiculous rock bottoms. Don't forget to bring sunscreen or head wear if you're visiting around noon time.
6 persons Paddle boat with 500bat. There r fews boat operator, take ur sweet time to do survey. Moto boat will cause u 1200bat per trip. Smart smart choose.
Try this mini-rice cakes . They are so delish. Available near the docking area. They sell this for 20baht (as of 10/10/2012). Enjoy Thailand. ❤
Great experience and very crowded . Good cheap food on the other side. A definite must see
Gosh! More tourists in long-tailed boats and paddle boats than vendors!
Yes, the floating market has been developed into a "tourist trap " over the past decades. However, some quiet pockets of local life can still be found. Read more about the history here: Read more
Locals selling goods while they are paddling their boat, you can buy food as you cruise along the river with a longtail boat or a paddle boat . Expensive souvenirs. Tourist trap .
The boat costs 150baht per person. Be careful cuz the drivers and tourism agencies take tourists there and try to charge 3000baht for the boat. Don’t accept! Go inside the market to a fair tour
Everything is expensive so haggle as much as you can! They take advantage of foreigners so outsmart them
A well-known floating market , ride around on a boat and experience purchasing food and items from the sellers whom are on a boat too ;)
Lots of "Floating street foods " ???????? Coconut Icecream , coconut pancakes and etc.
The boats are a rip off at the boat stop before the market . Insist that your driver take you to the main market and get a boat from there, cheaper and better.
It is the best floating market . You must go there in Bangkok
Wonderful one time experience... Boat rental and stuff selling at market is not cheap except for the food.
Hmm... I got to agree w most of them. This place has become a tourist trap . Food are getting expansive. Easily 50 Baht for a bowl of boat noodles . Be sure to bargain. Good experience tho.
One of the floating market in Thailand . Really cool place...must go...!!
Floating market is only good for a ride in thr boat and not for buying things.Because, u have not much time in a riding boat and moreover it needs heavy bargain. So just sit around and enjoy the ride.

Sells a lot of tourist tat, but the experience is worth it.
This is a nice place for local eat and shopping
Enjoy a long tailed speed boat along the canal , and see the daily morning congregation of produce-laden boats as farmers and smallholders trade their goods.
We stroll around the river , we bought a coconut ice cream which is tasted good enough. but the sellers just a few not like what i expected

Don't forget to bargain crazily here. Recommendation is bargain from 1/4 or even lower.
When I reached there was 2pm+ and most of the stalls and big market were closed. The boat fare is so expensive too.
700 Baht'a basladiginiz pazarligi 100-150 Baht'la sonuçlandirabilirsiniz. 150 Bath ta Floating Market 'i botla gezebilirsiniz.
Cute & interesting souvenirs, floating & nature around is cool????????
Unique experience when in ????????
Although its touristy , it's still the original floating market
Don't feel bad to say no. It's more enjoyable to buy food off the boats and watch the ladies prepare them expertly.
