The place is just stunning!! This over a century old place is a must try. The food is great the service is just wonderful and spotless. I recommend
Phenomenal traditional French cuisine and an insane wine list in a kitschy atmosphere but the experience & ambiance was not great. We went during vacation season and it obnoxiously crowded and hectic.
This is a place you should go for the historical experience, not for the great food or cheap prices. I went as a part of a literary tour and got the ceverlas and Lipp beer , and it cost me around 16€.
Steak tartare , frites.- Lipp in the day is quiet & a great place to catch up with friends. gets lumped in with Flore & Deux Magots-has as much or more history, but less touristy & better for a meal.
Feels authentically French , lovely staff & even lovelier food. They do not provide English menus, but they do speak enough English (we also heard them speak Italian). Charming place! Great french food
Classic French with waiters with attitude, no menu in English and good food. Nice! I recommend the duck , it was great!
If you're American, order the Andouillette. The waiter will respond with extreme condescension and incredulity. Insist. Then, after you love the dish, ask for a Diet Coke . His head will explode
Steak tartare . You'll get the full brasserie experience here, including stereotypical brusque service. But it's historic and not as overtly touristy as some of the other classic St Germain spots.
Legendary place, serving classic French dishes with classic French service: the food delicious but you're not loved :) totally worth it though!
The classic fatty food from a brasserie . Deception for the service (very slow and little caring), missing home brewed beers and little high addition
This Alsatian brasserie feels like it's out of Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. Embrace the attitude-- and go for the steak tartare or frisée salad if you're not wearing shorts .
Classic brasserie . Duck leg confit was perfection. Mashed potatoes were buttery and divine. They are not resting on their reputation/famous name.
Atmospheric, though I could see why some find it foreboding, but well worth trying as it is an experience and preferable to dining at some tourist trap.
When 2 or 3 order the same dish, they have to share it from a big portion .u get a big portion for 3 that u have to share. it's very unpractical since we were 8..besides i find it overpriced
If you want a dessert to share try the île flotante. one of the best I try, but to share for sure.
Love the place! We have 2meals in the same trip because its great! If you like steak tartare , Lipp's is the best you'll ever have. So delicious and the fries are to die for too.
Nice location and service. Agneau inedible (tough). The German specialities are good, though, as are the wines !
You can find better food and lower prices in Paris but authenticity is what you're here for. The service was quite nice and attentive. 14 EUR for a pint of beer is a joke.
This is perhaps the most authentic Parisian dinning experience, François Mitterrand used to eat there.
Came here just to be Hemingway for the night - the staff are funny (in a French way), and the food is typically French
Historical and traditional brasserie , nice to try once! A bit touristic
Have the charcuterie , it's brilliant. Recommended by Mr. ANDRE, one of our collaborators for Vive les Friends.
Good traditional French food in an authentic decor !
One of the greatest authentic French brasserie cuisines.
Amazing bistro good service .
Great escargot .
The food is delicious, however the waited charged us extra money as tips without telling us, and there is already 15% service fee on the costs. It was never happened and somewhat disappointing.
Yes, good and lively atmosphere , but also my filet with bernaise sauce was cold and dry (like the service). The frittes were good though.
One of the Jean-Luc Godard's favourite place in 60s.
Excellent duck confit
Classic French Brassiere. Busy atmosphere, good food, good location with many other places to visit nearby.
Stick to the 4/5 traditional dishes and enjoy the crowd!
Lots of signage, but you'll only see two in English: No shorts allowed, No salad served as meal.
Don't go there! Waiters are rude, food is mediocre but very expensive , the Lippbeer is ok (just as the whole atmosphere). Only if you want sardines straight from a can, go and knock yourself out!
Authentic French bistro
Try the Jarret de porc aux lentilles, it's just delicious!
Always good try the pigs feet
A good meal
Classic French cuisine but be warned.. they really are NOT into Americans.
Try the Escargot

Ördek beef
The worst service I have ever tried! Waiters rude, long time to receive the menu and water. They slammed fork and knife on our table! Good food actually, but why 15% of service included?
Satre and Hemingway was here.
Brasserie Lipp has been serving its classy Left Bank clientele Alsatian delicacies and 'blond' beer since 1880
Shorts are not allowed, even for lunch .
Service need to adjust to tourist . They don't like to speak in english.
Beth Bates ????
The Steak Tartare is perfect!
Beautiful place, good service and amazing food desserts. Their Viennese hot chocolate is fit for 2 people, it’s a LOT! ???? - Dana
The caramel millefeuille and Marco Polo tea are a perfect combination ???????? - ???? Lulu ???? .
Long long queues, but worth waiting. Free entrance, both exterior and interior are superb. Must see in Paris. - Artyom Fedosov
Amazing place! Have been in Empire State Building and it was a great, but this was a special. I recommend to go top of the building! - Markus
