Treasure trove of cinematic history. With its extensive collection of film memorabilia and immersive experiences, it is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the magic of filmmaking.
If you like classic films then this is the place. Wonderfully put together there is something for everyone lots of history. Highly recommend
Amazing museum especially if you are a film lover. Brand new and huge. Love it. 9/10 ps.
Small but a great collection of movie history - especially the holistic behind-the-scenes process of how a film gets made. Can do the whole thing in a couple of hours.
"The Academy Museum theaters (there are 2) are the best kept secret in LA. Screenings are somewhat infrequent but the projection and sound are second to none. Plus regular suprise guests"
The place you have to visit if you love cinema and the Oscars . Bring some money, because the gift shop is to die for.
Really interesting even if you aren’t a movie buff. Lots of behind-the-scenes stuff. Loved the historical section
Note it is next to LACMA but they have different entrances / tickets. Worth the price though ! Very cool & interesting exhibits on film culture/history/context
Only parking is next door at LACMA ($18!) or on the street if you get lucky. Peterson Museum across Wilshire also has a lot but is $21
