1661 年までこの地に仙台藩の上屋敷 (外桜田屋敷) があったことを示す案内板。案内板の設置者が仙台市 なのがちょっと意外。1676 年以後は現在の汐留駅附近にあった芝口屋敷 (浜屋敷) が仙台藩の上屋敷として機能していた。
説明板は日比谷公園 の北東、有楽門から50メートルほど入ったところにあります。
