The old fashioneds are good... and strong. Good place for a quiet drink.
Once through the front door it feels like you have been transported back to a 1940's cocktail lounge , plush seating , dim lights and a huge old oak bar . Drink a Whiskey Sour .
It's my birthday and a dear friend introduced me to this gem. For a lovely smokey ginger drink, order the Penicillin -- not on the menu you but Marco will make if you ask nicely. :-)
Art Deco vibe with solid classic cocktails . Chill spot in NoHo that's a great alternative to the college bars in the area.
Dim lights , mahogany, and mixed drinks . Love this classy cocktail bar . Enjoyed their take on a Manhattan (a "Lower Manhattan ").
Great bar for drinks after dinner or while waiting to get into Gato next door. Very cool atmosphere with great cocktail list . Perfect for impressing out of towners.
Gone from being my secret place , suddenly packed with zero tables available. What's going on??? If you do go, try the penicillin - my fave winter drink !
Relax with a perfectly mixed cocktail and a snack amidst the oak-paneled confines of this chic old-school bar . Ideal for quiet conversations + romantic rendezvous. Mon-Thur: 5pm-1am | Fri-Sat: 5pm-2am
Ask Keith for a Whiskey Sour with Makers Mark 46. The magic ingredient to the whiskey sour in here though — I just learned — is maple syrup !
Marco, my favorite bartender here, has left and the basil gimlet was less than perfect last nite. Still love temple bar for the amazing vibe but definitely disappointed in our cocktails .
Have loved this place since I lived on Mulberry and Houston. Kiss Me Deadly is amazing, and back in the day, they used to have my fave martini called the Metropolitan, like a blackberry Cosmo !
One of my faves. Great cocktails - esp love the basil gimlet . And great chill vibe - although tonite almost packed!!
So happy to report that temple bar has got its groove back. Excellent cocktails . Basil gimlet is my usual.
Relaxed and chill atmosphere- strong drinks and great service. Ordered the femme fatale, if you like bourbon , this is your drink.
You won't see a sign for this tucked-away bar , but you won't want to miss the seductive ambiance nor the extensive cocktail and spirits list.
One of my favorite cocktail bars in NYC. Really cool atmosphere and super friendly bartenders
I have come before, and the drinks were delicious. This time, not good. 2 of the 4 of us had to send back our drinks. Our other friend didn't love her drink either. I'm just getting a Ketel soda .
Sexy later spot. Bar in the front is quintessential downtown. Lounge in the back is even better
Try ordering off the menu : The Rosco is a delicious take on the Manhattan . With a bite, but a sweet finish.
A low key but great place for after work catch ups. Get a whiskey sour or old fashioned !
As a frequent patron of bars , I have had the opportunity to visit many establishments and experience a variety of atmospheres and offerings.
I lived in the area for over a year thinking it was a pet store . However it is a charming place with great cocktails !
They have a drink called the: Betty Draper : Hayman's Old Tom Gin , St. Germain and Prosecco ! Best cocktail I've ever had.
Great spot for drinks and great conversation. Quiet , intimate and beautiful wooden bar .
Hidden cocktail bar tucked away between noho star and gato. No windows and good drinks.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable bartender and a terrific mai tai !
A classic bar in every sense. A great escape on the early side of an off-night like Tuesday or Wednesday. Order a sidecar—winners drink cognac .
Not sure why there are so many negative tips about Temple Bar. Great cocktails , very low frat boy quotient = good times
One of my favorite spots in the city for well made cocktails . Old school vibe in the gorgeous, all wood bar room.
Dark, cozy spot that's perfect for ordering a dirty martini . Pony up to the shelf opposite the bar ; it's often empty.
The cocktails are delicious .. the vibes idk
Cool, comfortable cocktail bar with a friendly , helpful, knowledgable staff .
Try their special of the night. A great cocktail for a good price. Feels a bit 1995 soho, but still great drinks and service.
A cocktail bar where the gin and tonic is a glass of gin and a bottle of tonic water
Seems like the type of place I'd take a mistress if it was 1961. Discreet, sexy, and strong drinks . I'm a fan
Decent hidden place for quiet drinks. But don't expect excellent craft from behind the bar .
Great cocktails and they come with delicious buttery popcorn
What happened? It used to be so clean , sophisticated and borderline fancy . It now seems to be an obnoxious-and-messy patrons magnet.
Swanky , pricey , dimly-lit, with yummy cocktails . You may lose track of time there - no windows, etc. Drink carefully.
dark, sexy room. great for dates. great cocktails .
Sit at the bar . Slightly musty but definitely has an old-school charm.
Basil gimlet for the win!! Such good drinks here! Definitely worth a try!
Ask for the Moscow Mule . Amazing!!!
They have many leather bound books and the bar smells of rich mahogany.
The Black Crow is the best house cocktail ever!
Its no longer on the menu, but damn good Sake-martinis! Ask for them. With cucumber .
Order a Martini . You'll fall off your stool in pleasure (and in drunken stupor).
There's a gin and prosecco drink here called the Betty Draper .
Try the $8 cocktail of the day! Usually an original take on a classic and always great & cheap !
If you want a bar where you can have a conversation at a normal volume, this is it.
Great service. Awesome whiskey selection. Ideal place for bdays! - Henry Tong
