The Penny Ice Creamery

My ice cream connoisseur friend says Penny is the best in the bay . Local ingredients , smooth and creamy consistency, and a constantly changing menu—what more could you ask for?

Toasted marshmallow fluff add-on!!! All of their flavors are great and not super trendy for the sake of weirdness.

I like the texture of the ice cream . Rich flavors (chocolate sorbet and oat raisin walnut cookie ) and less sugar then elsewhere. For me the „Mini“ size was enough. Double it for two flavors.

We asked for the cone on top and got a broken cone for free (the waffle cone is so good, more memorable than the ice cream itself tbh)

The mint is amazing, as are the cinnamon flavors, but the specials rotate. Still, can you really go wrong at an "ice creamery"?

The ice cream is made with local ingredients , and while the selection is small the flavors are varied and unique. You can even get toppings!

Love their ice cream , but if you pay with card they default the tip option to 10%. I clicked too fast & was unable to go back to change it. I've never seen any other store do this. I think it's shady.

The line moves fast and it's worth the wait.

This place has good ice cream but there fresh mint is fresh mint warn you, and so it isn't appealing to most including me.... But they do have a very special topping- 'burnt' marshmallow topping

Dark chocolate sorbet hits the spot. Get the toasted marshmallow topping.

Get anything with the marshmallow fluff topping--a marshmallow toasted over your ice cream with a butane torch. You'll pass out it's so good.

The earl grey is soooooo good, one scoop isn't enough. The flavor is light and the texture is amazing ☺️

The ice creams are fabulous, current favorites are the mint w/ cacao nib , the caramel , and the raspberry rose sorbet . The Earl Grey bon bon is superb as well .

Ask for a double kids scoop. It costs only a tiny bit more than a single but you get to pair two tasty flavors.

They're happy to give you a taste of any (or all!) of their flavors, so give the "weird" flavors a try. You're likely to be surprised.

Always a treat learning about the new flavors. Had whiskey custard which I really enjoyed.

It's rare for me to find an ice cream place where I can't pick just one flavor. This is that place.

The olive oil chocolate sea salt ice cream paired with the freshly made house donuts . ERMERGARD.

Earl of grey is great as are the other flavor so tried.

Flavors and style remind me of Bi-Rite though taste isn't quite up to par. Make sure to get a waffle cone - it is toasted goodness.
