Built at 1928, The Istana Negara is the official residence of the King and Queen of Malaysia. The building sits on a 28-acre plot of land and surrounded by a high fence. But it's worth the trip to see the ceremonial changing of the guard which it's done everyday.
Jalan Istana 50500 Kuala Lumpur , Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Make sure to wear sunblock and use sunglasses especially when it's HOT... And oh! Wear comfy shoes with all the walking you'll need in that huge palace
The Istana Negara along Jalan Istana was the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. Located at a commanding position on the slope of a hill of Bukit Petaling.
Bring umbrella, because it's hot around here, and if you want to avoid the heat, just come in early morning, around 10am the heat is killing believe me
The Good: Cheap entrance fee , exhibits fairly well maintained and not crowded . The Bad: Terrible website, surprisingly little information once you get there and you're not allowed to take photos.
You need to pay to enter with various price accordingly. The exhibits are ok maintained and they open up most of the places for viewing . Kinda makes it understandable why they needed the new palace
Avoid the weekend crowd. rm5 admission fee for my card holder. Well preserved palace ☺
For locals with mykad, Rm5 per entry for adults, Rm3 for students/disabled/seniors .
