Firehouse Hostel and Lounge

This is the best hostel I've stayed at. The facilities are clean and comfortable . It's on a great location. Stay here if you're visiting Austin on a budget. The free breakfast is delicious.

Absolutely LOVE this place! The lounge is a hidden gem inside the hostel . Slide the bookshelf to the right and you're in a whole new world. Get the bee's knee!

Entrance through a bookcase on the hostel side immediately makes me feel like I am in a Harry Potter movie , or a Broadwalk Empire episode. Put yourself into the hands of amazing mixologists and enjoy!

The old fashions are true to recipe and the ambience is romantic , dark and cozy . The bartenders are friendly and helpful! Love the feel of a speakeasy (I should think ????)

Great cocktails . Get the Sofia (boozy )! Best part is the laid-back, cozy atmosphere . And getting there through a bookshelf .

To enter the hostel 's lounge , slide the bookcase to the right. You're in! Cozy atmosphere and good cocktails . My only gripe is that it takes forever to get a drink - be ready to wait.

If you're in the lobby of a hostel , you've found it. Around eye level on the far left of the bookshelf is a handle. Use the handle to slide the bookshelf and enter the promised land. Read more

Escape 6th street scum! The drinks are great! It's nice to be able to order a drink that isn't super sweet, and tastes fresh. Friendly but professional bartenders too.

The secret entrance to the hostel is through the bookcase . Good drinks, but happy hour prices have gone up to $6 instead of $5.
