President Obama eats here every time he visits Hawaii. We got to meet him! The food was delicious - don't miss the salad bar !

Waitstaff can be great *if* they think you're a local. Calamari steak can be ordered off-menu as an entreé (2 steaks ), and is DELICIOUS. Salad bar w/ unusual offerings like seaweed salad and avocados .

For dinner , call ahead for a rezzie. For cocktails and pupu, try to snag an outdoor table . Do not miss the ahi poke - "Freshy" cocktail (instead of Cuervo, upgrade to Patron) - "Chinese style" fish .

Coming from NYC in a place we pretty much have every kind of food. The food here is delicious I had the calamari steak and fish burrito along with a Mai tai and b.f.r.d drink food here is sooo good.

Perfectly situated across from Kailua Beach Park sits this retro-styled restaurant that takes you back to the good 'ol days of Hawaii. This place is known for fresh fish and great steaks .

The steaks are amazing, rivals any overpriced pretentious steakhouse . My husband and I love love love the wood char flavor and it is perfectly seasoned. With a beer ????mmmmm

Their calamari is the best I've ever had. There ribs were to die for and enough for 2.

Calamari steak for appetizer is a must go. The Jack Daniels burger or the open side crab sandwich are fantastic.

Calamari "steak " is the best! The artichoke was an unpleasant surprise and the burgers are amazing! Be aware: BFRD is still very strong!

Calamari is the best, don't expect to be able to put in a to go over the phone. 95% of the time they'll refuse, even if it's not busy. I recommend going straight to the bar if you want a togo order.

Kids plate was only 10.95, teri steak (or chicken ), rice , greens, and salad bar ! The salad bar is amazing, try the sour cream dressing smothered on avocados :)

Great Hawaiian beach vibe and right by one of the most beautiful beaches in Oahu. Mai Tais are dangerously strong so get the FBRD instead if you need to drive! Kids-friendly for lunch .

Try the gazpacho - very tasty & refreshing on a hot day :) they are very generous with the drinks too!

For those wondering, the Mai Tais are basically three types of rum with just a hint of mix. They have a less vicious version, but why would you do that? Steak was tasty and vegetables fresh.

The mong Chong (fresh) Chinese style. Also, the Tiramisu was amazing.

Get the burger , skip the ahi wrap . Mai tai is all rum . Beware drivers.

Calamari steak then say yes to the bread they offer after to dip into that sauce. Noms!

A little cramped, and a little dark. Food gets 8.5/10.

Service was atrocious. Nearly everyone, save one bus boy, had major attitude. Walked up at 4 to be made to wait outside in a tiny, hot area of the outside deck until dinner at 4:30. Steak was good tho

Avoid the open crab sandwich . The burger wasOK, we weren't quite digging the smoky taste from the wood.
