Lake Merced

Walk the entire lake for a 5 miler; the far south end for about 0.8. Birds, dogs, walkers, runners, bikers...lots of activity. On week ends, sometimes boaters. Golfing at multiple courses nearby.

Good place for a run if you like an outdoor setting that is a mix between somewhat nature like ( with trees , water, and some isolation) but also mixed with a little bit of urban life!

Connected to Golden Gate Park via a paved bike path , it's worth checking out for a cruise whether you're on 2 wheels or 4. A skeet-shooting range, golf course , fishing , & row-boat rentals also. Read more

Beautiful place to ride! Wide, paved trails with few pedestrians.

You don't have to park by the road ; there are in fact parking lots which are free and public

Scenic route connecting from golden gate park along the ocean. Great for biking and running!

Jog counter clockwise around the lake . You'll be able to jog up the long hill for a better workout.

If you want to cut 0.5 mile from the 4 5 mile perimeter run, take the short - cut bridge on the NE side.

Nice spot to make a break during your epic bike tour around the bay
