Lovely museum , great art (Rembrandt , Vermeer). Extremely crowded in the weekend, so go on a thursday evening for a visit.

Sure, obvs the Vermeer is the draw, but for my € the morbid little corner room with the dead child painting overlooking de Hofvijver is where I could stay all day. Also: recurring oyster motif ????????

Wonderful museum with important works of art , housed in a beautiful building. As a child, I was in awe with all that I saw then. But the lovely feeling came back in an instant!

Buy tickets in advance, slots are timed. The Girl with a Pearl Earring and the Rembrandts make the price worth it but the other pieces are great too!

Small but interesting museum . Lots of hidden gems here. For the size of the museum is a bit expensive , however if you love art this museum will not disappoint. There is no cafe at the museum .

Be ready to take your time in each piece and get to listen to an masterpiece’s history by getting an audioguide for a fee or downloading their app for free! They also have lockers for rent.

If you want to pack and bring home Vermeer's GwPE or any other painting as poster, but are afraid it won't fit your suitcase, just ask and they will cut the tube! It'll fit even cabin baggage then!

A somewhat intimate collection, the recent renovation gave Mauritshuis a great foyer to receive tourists . House of Vermeer's "Girl With a Pearl Earring ", the painting alone is worth the visit.

The Girl with the Pearl Earring is just like the Mona Lisa: the painting is smaller than you think and there is people in front of it taking pictures of it.

Not very big but very interesting. Get the free mobile app in the museum wifi and enjoy the long explanations about the paintings and its importance in the historic context. Museumkaart accepted.

Believe it our not. I think the ceiling contemporary art work "icarus atlanticus" by Ger Lataster is the best in the whole building.

Even with a stroller doable. Although the rooms are not that big (especially when crowded ) and you have to ask for the service elevator to get to the 2nd floor.

Go there on a Sunday an hour before close and the place will be yours

Small museum with an amazing collection!

Recently reopened after two years' renovation. Despite all the hype around Mauritshuis though, I thought the collection was surprisingly small.
