Eateries on touristy streets often put style over substance & value, but not Browns. Excellent pies , a couple of local real ales on tap & the carrot & orange cake with marmalade ice cream is amazing!
The game pies are amazing. Jam rolly polly for afters is highly recommended.
Make sure you try a pie . As daft as it sounds they have a lot of different things to choose from. Game/rabbit/beef and chicken pies are absolutely delicious
try the chicken pot pie - delicious! the shop is right between the castle and the cathedral , a perfect stop enroute
Don't skip the pudding - jam roly poly or bakewell tart are great..
We ordered a pie from here and when it arrived it was what can only be described as a pharmacist 's shoe
The good rates are not for nothing. Cosy environment and the lamb/redcurrant/rosemary pie was mouthwatering

Good value. Good tour. View from walls. Observatory is very high with lots of stairs. - John Jones
