Get a membership, even on short-term basis if visiting Barcelona often. Piped in sea water in a huge pool , water polo, paddel, ample beach space, sail , wind surf , steam/sauna AND a bar/restaurant.

Super crowded , for the price facilities could be in better shape. Sauna is extra. Why bother?

Great beach with warm, clear water (here in July) with no current. There's a lifeguard and plenty of places to get cheap mojitos! Very crowded but if you don't mind it's great - Chris Caricato
Awesome beach, very quiet and peaceful compared to further down near Barceloneta. Great food and drink selections near-by with the W Hotel and the Boardwalk! - Truman W.
