Easily the best Indian in NYC: fantastic staff , elegant decor , diverse Indian cuisine done perfectly (skip goat ), great cocktails (marg !), reasonably priced...all you could ask for from Indian food
An elegant and upscale Indian kitchen, with a gorgeous décor and a menu that offers a modern spin on Indian cuisine . We highly recommend ordering the chicken tikki masala .
The Butter Naan is the softest naan I’ve ever tasted in years .. it’s so good! Try Bataki Kosha, Chicken Tikka Masala and Goat Biryani ! Definitely the best Indian restaurant in NYC.
Head to this Michelin-starred Tribeca restaurant to sample dishes from all across India, in a comfortable , and ever-so-slightly elegant setting . [Eater 38 Member]
We ordered via Uber Eats. Packed v well . It was such a treat! Had paneer pasanda and paneer lababdar. Get rice , it does not come with the main. The bill was ~$100 so not cheap but totally worth it!
Chicken kolhapuri will take you right back to India! Try lachha paratha with some amazing mango lassi . This lassi is different than what you get in many American Indian restaurants in NYC!
Excellent India food from this Michelin star . Order the lamb chops , chicken tikka masala and okra . Make sure you have a reservation . Do try the truffle naan .
Have to say it was an impeccable lunch - food, service. Well worth indulging in a 4course lunch and the $25 price. I will be back to imbibe on cocktails with dinner next time.
Everything on the mixed grill plate was super delicious. The chili crab appetizer was amazing! Chicken tikka masala was overhyped by other reviews IMHO.
An outpost of a Flatiron district restaurant by the same name. Try the chicken tikka masala : tandoori chicken tikka in a creamy tomato and fenugreek sauce.
Undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in NYC ???????????? lentil soup , grilled lamb chops , green chicken tikka , and shrimp masala ????
The Chicken Tikka Masala is just beautifully delicious. A lot of care goes into the food and the experience.
I always agreed the best Indian restaurants are to be found in London. But Tamarind NYC represents an exception: try it if you have a chance!
Bhoj Puri Samosa . Paneer Akbari. Murg Malai Kabob (one of the best pieces of chicken you will ever eat). Punjabi Tikhe Kabob . Channa Masala . Shahi Paneer (great sweet/spicy red curry sauce ). So good.
Superb Indian food , definitely with an American twist. But worth the price & then some. If you can't get to India or Brick Lane in London, come to Tamarind .
Wonderful service! Amritsari seekh (marinated cheese ), bhagarey baigan (Japanese eggplant ), Gulab Jamun (milk pastry ) for dessert , for delicious vegetarian options ????
Monsoon cocktail , Chicken tikka masala , lamb milagu curry , order of lemon rice and nan . Wash if with some big Taj Mahal beers and you're good to go.
Try the Nizami Keema as an appetizer , and the Lamb Vindaloo for a main. Note that naan and rice must be ordered separately.
Lovely decor. Got the executive lunch . Great deal for a lot of food; the lamb curry dish was a little bland for my taste. But high marks for a tasty tandoori salmon and excellent customer service!
The mixed grill and chicken tikka are to die for. Tamarind margarita is refreshing and not too sweet. Amazing service and decor as well .
Good vegetarian selection and nice wine pairing . Super nice place and great service.
Went for restaurant week 2018, and it was a pretty great deal. The halibut was awesome. Beware that chai tea is $7 :/
Not an Indian food fan typically but loved this. Grilled shrimp special to start with murgh lazeez (recommended ground chicken dish) and chicken rice . Ordered WAY too much. Stick to one app and entree
Haven't even finished my meal but felt compelled to leave a tip - this place is in "Where Chefs Eat" and I can see why. Authentic Indian cuisine and service to match, love it!
Lunch special so good - had the chicken , rose ice cream , crab app, and broccoli

Very elegant and luxurious Indian restaurant with spectacular food and large portions . Try the Murg Malai Kabab , Punjabi Tikhe Kabab and a Tamarind Margarita .
The classics . Chicken massala . Try the nana with mushrooms and truffle
10 out of 10. Good food, nice staff , cute place. Everything in the menu is tasty. Chicken Masala : a must.
The most authentic Indian food in town and amazing service + serving. The owner and the people working in Tamarind are just TOP TEN!
Order the Mushroom & Truffle Oil naan ... And don't miss out on the Chana Pindi: it's like Chana Masala ... (but much better!)
The food and service was excellent! The only downside is that children are not allowed and it hasn’t been mentioned via open table booking .
Upscale authentic Indian cuisine at its best. If you hold very high standards for delicious naan , you must try theirs; not in the least bit overly crispy or buttery
The lump crab appetizer was suuuuper tasty.
Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had. It’s a pricey m/fancy place, but you will not regret it.
The lamb seekh kebab is probably the best I've ever had
Best Indian food in NYC . Love the chana pindi (chickpeas ) as well as the cauliflower appetizer .
The Palaak Chaat app is so good (and I love chaat masala ). Dishes were good but chaat stood out the most.
Curries are phenomenal. Get kolambi pola, fiery red vindaloo , venison chops, nargisi kofta , & broccoli-cheese naan . – Green Guide Editor
Amazing dishes all around and exceptional service . Quite possibly the best lamb chop I've ever had.
The welcoming, atmosphere, food are more than amazing but prices are high
Fancy Indian spot. My favorite thing is the Lasooni Gobi - an appetizer of spicy tomato/garlic cauliflower .
The sea bass was easily one of the best, most perfectly cooked pieces of fish I've ever had in New York. Order it. Immediately.
Find a reason to go on the expense account. Great food, great wine , great atmosphere - but be prepared for the check.
AMAZING meal. Everything is great so its fun to order a bunch of apps, entrees and share everything. Coconut shrimp , apple cider chicken app, and lychee martini !!
Place is nice, food is good. I ordered chicken takka masala and veggie briani
Basmati rice is quite good and lentil pancake was delicious. Service is wonderful and attentive.
No need to come to a place this high-end and pricey for Indian food . Dishes were good enough but you're in NYC! So many cheaper, more delish options.
Best veg indo chinese n north indian food is served here and lovely ambience as well as music - Ritu-dia Mulchandani
The Interpretations of Indian village food are amazing. Don’t miss the weekly cocktails & definitely don’t skip dessert! - Ankit Shah
Dinner menu is good. Cocktails are recommended. Indian twist on classic cocktails - Anamika Jha
Great selection of whiskies, including bourbons and scotches in an upscale atmosphere. A bit pricey. - Mark
Went here last night. Friendly staff (Nora was so accommodating!) great drinks and a wonderful vibe. Even when it's packed you can find a corner to nestle into nicely. - Kate Marro
