A boozy Russian spot with a piano player tapping out old Soviet tunes . The draw here is the house-infused vodka . It pairs well with a platter of tangy pickled vegetables for a post-theater snack . Read more
Lenin might be sitting at the next table or so it would seem. Authentic Russian. Vodka , salmon , herring . Post theater , pre theater or preparing a coup this is your place .
Sex in the City episode shot upstairs, Manchurian candidate with Frank Sinatra shot at the bar , used to be Jilly's of the Rat Pack fame..a true landmark of NYC
The grand piano player was very talented, enjoyed listening him. Did not like hachapuri that much. But the tea , varenniki and pirozhok were great. (My friend’s opinion)
Stroganoff in any form. Hibiscus tea , borscht , sour cream cake , all winners.
If you like tea - you must order the tea and stir in the cherry preserves it's AMAZING- especially paired with some of the cranberry infused vodka (my fav).
Loved the blintzes, borscht and infused vodkas . The closest thing to being in a club in Russia.
Great Russian food : pelemeni , vareniki , pirozhki, fish , Chicken Kiev . And the flavored vodkas are a must.
Very good Russian home food, & live Music ! I feel at home. Pickled platter==== must order two plates next time!
I have only two critical remarks: 1) a cup of tea is $7, too cheap to enjoy it, especially given that an infused vodka shot is $5. 2) I waited 2 hours to see bears on the scene, and got nothing.
Authentic place and cuisine ! Come here if you really want to taste good Russian food
Best place for a get together or after work party. Live music sets the right mood, staff is amazing especially the bartender Pavel who is the core of a guaranteed fun night!
Best place ever! Excellent food, wonderful service and great music . More lively on Fridays and Saturdays.
Best award winning house infused vodkas . Try a flight with 6 different flavors to start
Down shots of homemade infused vodka (there are over a dozen varieties, like cranberry , tarragon , and garlic ) and authentic borsht at this personality-packed joint. Read more
Well .I might say it is not that close to real Russian atmosphere, but it is good to try. I ordered Hachapuri but it was not even close to be called by this name. My friend liked varenniki and pirozhok
Try the Beluga Gold Vodka Martini - A very reasonable martini before going to see "Big Fish " on broadway at the Neil Simon Theater .
Eat delicious pelmeni and try the dozen infused vodka . Mmmm

Excellent Russian restaurant in Manhattan!
I'm not familiar enough with Russian food to be much of a judge, but I love the vibe and live music (piano and Russian ballads)
Very fun and cool place, Russian vodka room is across the road is nice place as well
Trio of salads , Veal Pelmeni , Lamb Shank , and Pomegranate Infused Vodka . Exquisite.
Good music - good food - good bar crowd - comfortable place to hand out
You must try Beef stroganoff and, of course, Borsht - the best in NYC! Trust me - I'm Russian:)
Relaxing atmosphere ; very comfortable .
Horseradish infused vodka is awesome.
Had a blast here Fri.! Still a chance to catch MY PERESTROIKA at the IFC Center until Aug 19th. Screenings continue to sell out, so book ahead! "One of the year's best films " -The Huffington Post Read more
Russian style:) delicious Russian food and live music . Nice waiters . I
Don't fool around with single shots; just go for a carafe of one of the vodkas .
Amazing food, russian music , and raspberry martini ! The best????
Just go for it. Order an ounce of caviar and a very cold shot of vodka for each person...comes with the most amazing blinis
Great food! Classical Russian style atmosphere! Long live Roman Kaplan!
Surprised by high quality. Must try
Great and strong cocktails , try KGB Martini or Bloody Dasha
Horseradish infused vodka . It makes a fabulous dirty martini .
Good Russian plates. The service is a little spotty, but was okay when we dinned.
Been long time since here last, still decent but pales compared to rvr or Marivanna
Amazing place, lunch meals are delicious
the savory vodkas - dill , horseradish , garlic , coriander - are the way to go.
Best Russian place in NY
Good beef stroganoff .
Flavored vodkas , Beef Stroganoff , duck

There may be good vodka but I didn't find it there
Horseradish martini . Do it.

Malatov is a killer! Follow with a water or 2.
The flavored vodkas are great. Not too sweet, smooth, unique flavor combinations like seaberry and honey and pepper. - Kay Teo
Great atmosphere. Works really well for Cats, which is fabulous! - Kim Davis
Reasonable good theatre I'd go to see something here again - Alan Morton
