Beyond the fact that the food here is absolutely delicious, walking into here feels like a time warp. An amazing experience
Billy Durney, chef/owner of Hometown Bar-B-Que, recommends The Panelle and Croquette Special .
Established 1904, continuously operated. Serves old Sicilian dishes, like chickpea-flour fritters ; vasteddi, a focaccia made with calf's spleen; and pasta topped with sardines canned by the owner.
Pastas are hearty and delicious, especially the pasta con sarde . I'll try anything once but I don't think I'll be getting the Vastedda again.
Come before noon; have a panelle special or sandwich (no cheese ) and a Manhattan Special !
Deliciously authentic Italian cuisine . The pappardelle alla boscaiola is amazing!
Veal Parm on a roll or hero. Add ricotta if you want it to be extra awesome.
The meatball parm sandwich is very tasty.... And try the Manhattan coffee soda
Meatball entree is awesome and big enough to share! Try the panelles !
Was a bit let down by the pasta dishes. Grilled eggplant salad wasn't made fresh but pulled out of a container. Caselnova makes better pasta but would probably come back here to try specialties
