Powell's Bookstore is a bookstore Hyde Park Chicago located in United States.
1501 E 57th St (at Harper) Chicago , IL 60637 United States
The shelves just keep going and going, with a huge density of books in every little alcove of the store. Definitely a place to find some inexpensive books you've been looking for.
The philosophy and theology sections are stellar, and the selection of literature is good. The poetry section is lackluster, however; I would recommend the Sem Co-Op for that. Fair prices .
Books ...specially, philosophy, religion and the new age section has some great deals. Sci fi collection is good
Amazing store. Great philosophy section . They even have a Marxism section, though not as good as the Sem Co-op's.
Best book store in Chicago for everything theological , philosophical, historical...okay, best store period. Check out the free book box outside the door every day. Great gems in every box.
Not so overwhelming as the Portland store, but an amazing and well-curated philosophy section . Worth the trip down.
Great selection of Classics and some history. Need to get past the need for a "Marx" section. Really?
Great design & typography section right by the door.
Original powells (like before the famous one in Portland )!
Huge collection of books inside and free books outside the door!
Good prices on s nice selection of books . Look there first.
Such a lovely place to hang out and kill time wandering the stacks!
Philosophy section is completely worth a trip
