Beautiful place to sit during your lunch hour. Can see all the boats that go by but some of the people walking their dogs can be annoying when you're eating .
Use the Southern end crosswalk to enter the Esplanade: there is a blind spot to FDR Drive when using the North end.
Nice park with plenty of benches and water views ... but not spacious at all -- at points, the FDR causes this path to be narrow + uncomfortable for both cyclists and walkers!!
Excelent [2nd best] location to see the Astoria Park Independence Celebration.

There is a major hole that needs to be repaired just south of 111th street overpass.
You can't check in here if your driving by!
