Don't be pushed away because it's vegetarian . B & H has the best breakfast in EV hands down, and it's only $6! Homemade challah bread and the friendliest staff around. Say hi to Mike! Good juices too.

Ranu Rajkarnikar

Get the perogies or an omelette , and if you're craving something sweet, challah French toast is the way to go. Grab a fresh juice on your way out, and enjoy the friendliest service ever.

Leemor Yuravlivker

Huge portions for cheap . I got borscht soup (good), stuffed cabbage with steamed veggies (alright- get the potato side instead). Best part was the fresh challah .

Geoff Kim

Slinging kosher classics since 1938. Its $7 breakfast , available until 11am, comes with two eggs any style, home fries , B&H challah bread , orange juice and coffee or tea . -TimeOut best cheap eats

Village Voice

This Jewish dairy restaurant remains a paragon of the meatless half of Kosher Jewish cuisine. Sit at the long lunch counter and enjoy cheese-squirting blintzes, egg sandwiches and savory soups .

Gari Fernandez

I love this place.this was the regular breakfast spot for a year and a half and each time i had something from there it was absolutely amazing.

Becca McArthur

The fresh smoothies & juices are yummy & only ~$5. Bonus points because they're served in transparent red tumblers. Makes you feel like you're at summer camp !

Holiday

East village institution should be an official landmark . Luckily we didn't lose it in the explosion earlier in the year. Quick, honest food for a fare price. Don't forget about the fresh juices too.

Dan Hebert

My favorite diner . Honestly, everything’s good here. Challah , omelettes , breakfast sandwiches .. staff is the friendliest. An EV staple!

TT 10 Cheap Eats: "'40s-era diner w/menu of classics & old-school Euro favs, like pierogi & cabbage . Oversized B&H Special omelet and served with hash-like home fries and slices of house-made challah "

A classic, cozy diner with the friendliest staff in NY. Omelettes , tuna melt and pierogis are all delicious.

Vegetarian lasagna with soup can be easily shared by two people. And rice pudding for desert completes a perfect lunch

They're open again. Egg cream is okay but not as good as I make at home. Borscht and kasha are both great. And it's really inexpensive too.

Serious Eats

Eastern European vegetarian lunch counter. Go for breakfast hash browns , egg and cheese sandwiches on challah , and plenty of Old World charm.

Matt Kerestesy

The sandwiches are made on the amazing challah bread . The mozzarella sandwich is great, make sure you add salt though. Egg sandwich is amazing, tons of dill .

Yisroel Solomon

Great breakfast spot ! Authentic and tasty. I had the omelet with onions and lox and it was incredible. Big portions at a low cost!

Zach Linder

Challah french toast , soups , blintzes, pierogies . A NYC institution, remnant of a bygone era, and one of my favorite places on the planet.

The pierogies ($9.50 for 4), filled with potato or cheese , are plump and unusually large. They’re great with the hearty, but not heavy, barley and mushroom soup . Read more
