If you are going to drop your glasses into the Kīlauea Steam Vents, be sure there is somebody nearby with a fishing pole!
Take the path thru the vents you see and get to the overlook for the crater.
Don't throw coins and trash on the vents. There is no need for that. The steam vents look more impressive from a distance rather than up close.
Follow all the way to the left, you will come upon some you can actually see the opening the gas is coming from.
Ohh steam. Not that great. Walk across the road and see the sulphur vents. They may smell but they are much more interesting.
The steam vents are awesome
If you are short on time, just skip these. Not that impressive.
Drive by. Don't stop.
Be careful with the bars near the vents they get hot. Walk over to the viewing area to the volcano.
Best view of lava can be see from a helicopter. From the ground in the evening you can see the red shadows of the flowing lava. - Mariya Krasteva
I had the Kalua pork and pineapple pizza. Wife had the grilled fish burger. Both were great. Large kids meals, our 2 girls (4yrs and 20mths) shared the pasta. Reasonable prices and what a view. - Tim Ayres
Nice view but go early to park if you want to hike before it gets crowded. - eric bornemann
Probably one offstage best overall views of the caldera. Expansive and super cool even if it’s just steam coming out. - eric bornemann
Looks amazing! On some places you can even feel the warm steam!! BUT you should definitely bring a rain jacket with you! It’s quite windy ???? and rainy out here. Sadly lots of hikes were closed. - Ju Le
