I would recommend viewing this crater at sunset . You can see it during the day and then watch it glow red as night falls. Get there early, the parking lot fills.
Learn about volcanoes , watch white steam rise during the day, then at night the steam glows red from the lava! Then spend a few hours doing other things in the park , like hiking trails .
One of the most amazing places to visit on the entire big island . Bring your camer-ah and be prepared to take endless amounts of breathtaking photos!
Fingers crossed it's smoking when you are there and you might see it glow!
Breathtaking ! Make sure to stop by the park rangers at the visitors center or Jaggar's Observation! They know their stuff!
