Access to Redwood Trail and Purisima Creek Trail
Skyline Blvd Half Moon Bay , CA 94019 United States
Beautiful hike .. Starting downhill and going up was a bit brutal.. Very quiet and less packed than most..
Still one of my favorite redwood hikes on the Peninsula. The loop that starts out on Skyline and then descends into the canyon offers very diverse experiences.
First couple of miles is entirely downhill so be prepared to hike UP to the parking lot if you turn around! We hiked a loop and took the road back to the car, an awesome 8miles!
This is a wonderful hiking spot considering its random location. Its safe and in the novice level of hiking . Loops range so pick up a map. Also, its an open space NO ONE has reception.
Highly recommended for a quiet , less packed, touristy version of Muir Woods
Be careful about how far you decend into the Purisima Creek Ravine from this location. It's a pretty steep grade hiking out.
Get lost in the trees !
very spotty cell phone coverage for sprint up there, be warned.
Very little shade so bring a hat, sunscreen, and lots of water. Beautiful hike with great views. - _
Great hike. One of my favorite hike in bay area. It's so green and beautiful. - F T
Hike has beautiful views, but the fire road as a hiking trail sucks on the downhill portion. I fell a bunch of times - Jessica Belluomini
Easy trail with an amazing view. It gets crowded on Sundays, but you can still enjoy it at your own pace. Bing water! - Verónica Andrade
This place is BIG! And with trails with a lot of tree coverage, it's a good place to go when it's super sunny out. Also great place to picnic. Plan to spend some time as there is an entrance fee. - Suzy Coleman
Bloody Mary is so good and the potato cakes with poached eggs was outstanding! - D K
Great atmosphere and view and the food is of course, incredible. Nicest part for me and my family was in an area where they charge 15$ to park and walk the beach, was seeing the ocean for free - Kelly Moya
