Emerald Bay State Park is a state or provincial park South Lake Tahoe located in United States.
Hwy 89 (at Upper Emerald Bay Rd) South Lake Tahoe , CA 96154 United States
Be careful driving through here during the winter months. Assholes from the Bay Area drive like psychopaths. The speeds are posted for a REASON. Doing 20 over is dangerous ANYWHERE.
if you come by small group go with tahoe queen, but if you come with a group of friends rent a yacht boat drive out to the island and swim there its beautiful! more privacy less crowded !
once you hike down the trail , there are paths that take you around the lake so it's never too crowded and you have your own space.
Used to come here a lot when we were kids - spent every Thanksgiving here for years! Loved it then and love it now.
Hike down to the beach for gorgeous views and pristine blue waters.

It’s Beautiful
Limited parking . Not a problem in the winter but expect an issue in the summer.
Get out to the island
Take a lazy day at emerald lake , bring provisions for all day, and a swimsuit.
