Kueh Tutu. I’m in love with the snack from Tan’s Tu Tu Coconut Cake #01-25. Both coconut & peanut fillings were solid. Be prepared to wait as owner-chef patiently prepares each piece

Cheen The Curious

Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles ). Sweetish wet style from Meng Kee #01-07. Tasty and full of 'wok hei' (smokiness)

Cheen The Curious

Fishball noodles . Popular Khin Kee 01-06 (prev from AMK Ave 10) serves genuine handmade fishballs & ‘her giao’ (fish dumplings ). A fan since fellow 4SQ makan kakis introduced me to Khin

Testing of patience to queue (even when queue looks short ) at Tan 's Tu Tu Coconut Cake stall at #01-25 Tu Tu Kueh with coconut or peanut fillings for post-lunch dessert , but I still queue :-P

Jess Thia

Relaxed ambience on Sunday evening, different from weekdays lunch crowd. Some spots feel like bistro , coupled with background Thai pop songs that liven up the place. Carpark is free on Sundays.

Cheen The Curious

Curry noodles ($6) by Masala Curry Mee #01-01. Thick aromatic gravy , more like Japanese curry . If prefer spicier, ask for his fried sambal chilli . Ingredients include: chicken char siew , tau pok, egg

Cheen The Curious

Monday bfast : Only Malay, fishball noodles , prawn noodles , laksa & kopi/kaya toast stalls r open @ this popular taxi driver drop-in. Alternatives r Bgain kopitiam (100m away) & Beo Cres FC (400m)

Tea break: Just gobbled down delicious S$3 Char Kway Teow in 8 mins @ Meng Kee Fried Kway Teow at Blk 22 Havelock Road Coffee Shop (next to carpark entrance of this hawker centre).

Jess Thia

Convenient place to drive car to stopover in front of the stall to da-bao fruit juice for a quick chillax in between work appointments near River Valley ;-)

Jess Thia

Stopover here after work at Orchard Rd to satisfy my craving for crispy prawn crackers from #01-20 Ngor Hiang stall. Rare food centre layout whereby patrons could casual dine next to their cars ;-)

Cheen The Curious

Braised duck noodles ($4). Aromatic gravy from Shan Duck Noodles #01-81. Meats were flavourful too. Appreciated that herbal soup was the real deal, not hot water with soy sauce ????

Ah Leong San

From the roast meat , kueh chap, fishball mee , laksa , porridge , economy rice to prawn mee this FC is full of good old school food.

Cheen The Curious

Prawn noodles . Covent Garden Prawn Noodle #01-24 is 1 of the rare remaining stalls still serving with copious amount of kangkong (water spinach ). Run by an elderly couple :-)

Cheen The Curious

Order popiah skin. Hup Kiat #01-28 publishes telephone numbers 62712936 & 62701075 for u to place advance orders through. $15 per kg (approx 30 pieces of popiah skin)

Cheen The Curious

Fishball noodles . Eng Huat #01-26 dishes out old skool style: thick fishcake slices, just-the-right-size fishballs, pork slices , & la-pok (fried pork lard cubes). Stall run by an elderly couple

Cheen The Curious

Playground : If ur kids r hyperactive (or fidgety), there's a playground @ base of Blk 20 (HDB block nxt to FC) to burn off some energy :-)

Jess Thia

Da-bao old school Tze Char after work appointments at River Valley vicinity. There's ample vacant carpark lots conveniently located in front of the stall on weekday evening :-)

Cheen The Curious

Vegetarian options limited. Specialty vegetarian stall selling briyani , prata & Mee Goreng , local desserts & snacks , fried carrot cake

Cheen The Curious

Popular food stop due to sizeable open carpark right next to it. Abt 30 stalls

Cheen The Curious

Laksa . Tasty serving fr Guang Fa Laksa #01-11. Plenty of dried shrimp in their coconut milk soup base

Cheen The Curious

Wantan noodles . Decent $5 serving from Traditional Wanton Mee #01-20. Noodle sauce was aromatic. Wantan filling was generous. However, ‘char siew ’ (BBQ pork ) was dry & lacked much caramelisation

Cheen The Curious

Rice porridge . Ivan's Porridge 01-06 prepares a smooth base. Lots of options/toppings to choose/customise from

Vanny Chua
