Kueh Tutu. I’m in love with the snack from Tan’s Tu Tu Coconut Cake #01-25. Both coconut & peanut fillings were solid. Be prepared to wait as owner-chef patiently prepares each piece
Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles ). Sweetish wet style from Meng Kee #01-07. Tasty and full of 'wok hei' (smokiness)
Fishball noodles . Popular Khin Kee 01-06 (prev from AMK Ave 10) serves genuine handmade fishballs & ‘her giao’ (fish dumplings ). A fan since fellow 4SQ makan kakis introduced me to Khin
Testing of patience to queue (even when queue looks short ) at Tan 's Tu Tu Coconut Cake stall at #01-25 Tu Tu Kueh with coconut or peanut fillings for post-lunch dessert , but I still queue :-P
Relaxed ambience on Sunday evening, different from weekdays lunch crowd. Some spots feel like bistro , coupled with background Thai pop songs that liven up the place. Carpark is free on Sundays.

Tea break: Just gobbled down delicious S$3 Char Kway Teow in 8 mins @ Meng Kee Fried Kway Teow at Blk 22 Havelock Road Coffee Shop (next to carpark entrance of this hawker centre).
Convenient place to drive car to stopover in front of the stall to da-bao fruit juice for a quick chillax in between work appointments near River Valley ;-)
Stopover here after work at Orchard Rd to satisfy my craving for crispy prawn crackers from #01-20 Ngor Hiang stall. Rare food centre layout whereby patrons could casual dine next to their cars ;-)
Braised duck noodles ($4). Aromatic gravy from Shan Duck Noodles #01-81. Meats were flavourful too. Appreciated that herbal soup was the real deal, not hot water with soy sauce ????
From the roast meat , kueh chap, fishball mee , laksa , porridge , economy rice to prawn mee this FC is full of good old school food.
Prawn noodles . Covent Garden Prawn Noodle #01-24 is 1 of the rare remaining stalls still serving with copious amount of kangkong (water spinach ). Run by an elderly couple :-)
Order popiah skin. Hup Kiat #01-28 publishes telephone numbers 62712936 & 62701075 for u to place advance orders through. $15 per kg (approx 30 pieces of popiah skin)
Fishball noodles . Eng Huat #01-26 dishes out old skool style: thick fishcake slices, just-the-right-size fishballs, pork slices , & la-pok (fried pork lard cubes). Stall run by an elderly couple
Playground : If ur kids r hyperactive (or fidgety), there's a playground @ base of Blk 20 (HDB block nxt to FC) to burn off some energy :-)
Da-bao old school Tze Char after work appointments at River Valley vicinity. There's ample vacant carpark lots conveniently located in front of the stall on weekday evening :-)
Vegetarian options limited. Specialty vegetarian stall selling briyani , prata & Mee Goreng , local desserts & snacks , fried carrot cake

Laksa . Tasty serving fr Guang Fa Laksa #01-11. Plenty of dried shrimp in their coconut milk soup base
Wantan noodles . Decent $5 serving from Traditional Wanton Mee #01-20. Noodle sauce was aromatic. Wantan filling was generous. However, ‘char siew ’ (BBQ pork ) was dry & lacked much caramelisation
Rice porridge . Ivan's Porridge 01-06 prepares a smooth base. Lots of options/toppings to choose/customise from

The porridge is smooth and creamy and it has a variety of different type. Plus it offers fried bee hoon to go with your porridge. Or you can just have bee hoon with fried egg, luncheon meat etc - Ah Leong San
