Established 1829. It was praised as one of most elegant in Europe at the time. Antique mirrored interior with marble counters. Go for glazed pastries , or at Christmas , traditional "Bolo Rei ."
One of My favourite places in this wonderful Lisbona! Very nice people, and the shop si awesome! Don't miss it
Since its very traditional, visit and have a pastry . But don't expect a good or fast service . I recommend Xadrez and Indiano. They're both really good!
Grab a pastel de nata and a coffee for a quick and tasty breakfast . Don’t be afraid to use the standing tables near the pastry counter if it’s crowded .
Branch out beyond pasteis de nata with Lisbon's oldest and most traditional patisserie—so many pastries to choose from. You won’t be disappointed.
Great bakery with over 100 years of experience. Try the abatanado (coffee ), the tosta mista (ham and cheese sandwich ), as well as all the amazing pastries .
My favourite patisserie in Lizbon! Founded in 1829 and still preserves local flavour . Not necessary to say - Nata tastes just perfect!
Lots of pastries to choose from including traditional ones. One of the oldest shops in Portugal
Have a bicameral (small espresso ) and chat with the staff . Choose a time when they're not too busy. Take some photos. Loved it
Upper floor hides a restaurante with friendly service and a Deli just right for lunch time - bacalhau is a must!!
Kindly request scrambled eggs to your croissant + cheese . The slightly sweet croissant adds a little something.
Get an espresso and a pastel NATA you won't regret it and it's not tourist pricing save your Euros and enjoy the snack
Founded in 1829 by Baltazar Castanheiro it has belonged to the same family for 5 generations. The traditional Christmas Bolo Rei was brought to Portugal by the son of the founder in the 19th Century.
Great for a quick bite . The service got a little confused with my bill, but we’ve settled the matter quickly so all is forgiven.
Lots of tasty pastries in a beautiful shop near some central traffic lines . Perfect for grabbing some sugar for a journey!
Beautiful, intricately decorated interior and delicious pastries .
Fantastic cakes - well worth a visit. For quicker service if you just want custard tarts , go to the petit fours counter.
The building is beautiful and the pastry is amazing. The first floor has more tables to sit.
Great place with charming setting to have Pastéis de nata and other good pastries .
Trendy , center, cozy , authentic , simple
Really good pastries and cute / Central spot.
The miniature egg pastries are amazing. Get a few kg to take home!
One of Europe’s most elegant pastry shops , the Confeitaria Nacional that has served customers delicious cakes from 1829 (City Walks)
Best bica, very good cortado and the best burger looking like chocolate on the right low corner!!! :D
Unbelievably cheap , delicious and refreshing Pastel de Nata and great bica too
Nice cakes and pasties de nata . Cappuccino is watery. Espresso recommended.
Nata is outstanding
Delicious Portuguese sweets in the heart of historic Lisbon
Pau de Frutas and Hot Chocolate are amazing... Enjoy the visit!
The Portuguese tarts were delicious. Must try!!
Sit upstairs by a window in either the self-service or table service area
Very sweet everything - inside and outside. A true landmark within the captiol of sweets ;-) Read more
Great pastries , it's quite hard to find a sit. Pastries are not expensive (1,45€) but I found cafeteria to be a bit above the average.
It’s a little bit expensive for what it is and not so good ! Employee should start smiling a bit.
Also serves quick lunches for something like 8 to 9 €. Not the cheapest in Lisbon but you might want to give it a try.
Nice atmosphere, but breakfast was just ok, can't recommend neither scrambled eggs not mozzarella sandwich . Croissant with cheese was as expected.
Belem pastries are awesome here! But not hot
Historical place, yummy desserts .
Try the pastéis de nata .
Best Pasteis de nata in all Lisbon
Try the "guardanapo".
Oldest Cafe in Portugal
Have a bica (small espresso )
Anarchic service. If you speak portuguese you'll be served first. Overpriced pasteis de nata : 1€10
service... is slow . best bakery you can find. check the cookies section
Talk about bad service!! I guess they get away with it, everything seems delicious enough, but there's plenty of nice places around. Slow, unprofessional, not nice at all.
Hot chocolate ! ????
Wonderful!
Horrible service. Go inside, take a look, take a photo if you must - after all it is kind of a landmark - but please go eat somewhere else. Lisbon has much better to offer.
Horrible service. Go elsewhere.
Yoghurt with toppings and honey recommended. Very friendly staff. Open 7 days a bonus. - Geoff Sharman
Delicious food and great service! Not a cheap place, fair prices to eat good Portuguese food. They also have smaller and cheaper dishes. Try the Croquete de Vitela guarnecidos. It's AMAZING! - Bianca Pericolo
Just had the perfect lunch by the lake. So calm and peaceful! The cakes and natural juices were also amazing! Will come back in a next trip to lisbon! - Dequan Chan
Beautiful open space, the arch is so pretty to see at night! Often crowded when the cruise ships are in town. - Monica Cullen
Nice scenic view. Castle view. Sea view. Free with metro ticket. - Eddy
Just another one of the many amazing squares in Lisbon. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby! - Daisarie Delay
