Go with your lover, one of you wait in the long line while the other person shops. If you don't have a lover, shop and then wait in line and cry quietly to yourself.

Great selection of cheap , healthy produce and products, but long lines . Come on hump day at opening to 10 AM or at closing for the best lines . Wait in the outer line for best access to fresh produce .

You can get all the essentials in the outside line - vegetables , fruit , bread , cheese , meat, dairy, juice and beer . The pro move is to bring a friend to run around for the rest while you stay in line .

Pro Tip 1: Go with someone who stands in line while you shop. Pro Tip 2: Shop the middle aisles first. Then stand in the outside line and shop veggies , bread , cheeses , meats, cereals and dairy.

Prices great for the quality. Nice atmosphere and staff . As for the line , you just have to know when to go. I usually go before 12 on Wednesdays - very short to no line . I will regret sharing this....

When crowded , hit the middle of the store and then get in line . Shop the perimeter while making your way to the registers.

If you like your food sans preservatives and free of bad things, you will find it here at reasonable prices. Also, wonderful treats. During peak hours the 6th Avenue location is roomier and quicker.

My new favorite place to buy groceries . Why? Boneless , skinless chicken thighs for $3.99/lb and almond butter for $5.99 per jar. Beats WholeFoods any day of the week.

Trader Joe's is great. This one gets busy. I pick up the stuff I need from the middle of the store and grab items from around the outside while I'm in line . Patience is virtue!

Came on a Wednesday when it was raining (expecting a shorter line ) - BIG mistake! Line started when I entered the store. My advice: get your frozen items LAST if you can!

I don't care how fast the lines move. They are the equivalent of running a marathon. The more people you bring the better. You can each do a task while someone waits online. True meaning of tag team

Always choose the line that runs closest to the veggie , then cheese/meat/fish/soy products, stop for a snack , then continue on line and get all your dairy stuff. TJ Helpers will get things you forget.

Make sure to grab everything you need from the interior of the store then shop the exterior while you're in line . Go to the line farthest to the right if you need dairy items.

The frozen mango chunks, crunchy cookie butter , and the ginger snaps are all must-haves. Obviously because they're TJ's extremely healthy options

This place is always a zoo . I wouldn't dare go during lunch or after work. The line snakes around the whole store!

if you don't have a day job or work hours that are NOT 9-5, try going in to TJ's at 11 am or 2 pm. WAY less crowded and shopping is actually pleasurable.

Monday and Tuesdays are the most crowded . But the bananas are fresh and the staff is friendly .

Start with pasta & frozen foods, then get nuts , snacks , and produce, start waiting in line and grab meats & cheese , hummus , and finally eggs & dairy while on line = efficient TJ's shopping.

Go during a week day around 2 - line isn't nearly as bad as week nights or weekends. If you're working and have a lunch break request a plastic bag to fridge it up at work :)

Cool fact: store layout and design is extraordinarily similar to the T Joe's in Coolidge Corner in Boston.

Once you get to know the layout of the store, get your frozen foods and produce first, and then shop as you are in line . It saves both time and space

A stop at TJ's for some Italian Truffle cheese and TJ's own Prosecco before you trip the light fantastic at nearby Irving Plaza or Mercury Lounge is never a bad idea.

For items that sell out, call in advance and they'll set it aside. Then, keep adding to the list. Before you know it, they'll have done all your shopping for you!

Come either right at opening (8am) or mid afternoon (3pm). Gets crowded later in the morning and then packed before dinner .

As much as I love Trader Joe’s, shopping at this location is miserable. Always a huge crowd. It’s impossible to leisurely shop here.

Whenever I go, it is so crowded , especially at rush hours. Barely can you stop to pick up items from the shelves as tgere are people urging you behind with their trolleys.

Obsessed lately with the tuna in green curry sauce . Sounds weird, but it's delicious. Try it w nice wild rice . Line is daunting, but u won't wait for more than 20 mins, no matter how long it looks.

The best grocery store near Union Square. Reasonable prices with a great selection.

It doesn't matter what time of day you go, the line will always be infinitely long. Bring a book or fully-charged phone and wait it out.

Cut you some flax. Try adding flaxseed or its oil to your meals. Trader's has it golden roasted, milled , whole, in cereal, in oatmeal . The health benefits are plentiful and the taste is yummy.

I love this place for 2.99 wine u can't beat that it's called "2 buck chuck" if u having a party stock up here or great cheap gift for an occasion at a friends house

Bring reusable bags, they'll give you a discount . Also the free coffee samples are fantastic.

The lines are long enough that you will do half your shopping in line , but it's worth it
