one of the life-changing Shio Bak I've tasted so far. Charsiew I rank top 5 lah I still love my Alex Eating House charsiew v much. Come Dinner to avoid daytime queue! #ShioBakHeaven #ThomtoriEats
The roast pork and char siew here are to die for. Generous portions too. A roast meat specialist indeed!
The sio bak (roasted pork ) & char siew (BBQ pork ) hv plenty of fatty bits. Made the well-roasted meats very soft to chew. Too much & u will feel "jelak". Let them know if u prefer them lean
If you like your Siu Yoke (Roast Pork ) really fatty and crispy , this is the place. But be prepared to queue.
Eat here because u wd rather have noodles & vege with your glorious meats. U can top up meat (I added a portion of sio bak - roasted pork $2)
Umpteen time here. Not disappointed at all!Awesome!! Tastefully roasted pork-belly(crispy skin ) & Char-siew(half lean & fatty). See it, must try! (Making your gastro smile all the way home ????????????
The Lavender Street outlet is 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist‘s flagship outlet. The other outlets are branches, even the Tyrwhitt Road outlet round the corner.
I take back what I said when I just had the wanton noodles . The highlight here are the char siew and sio yok. They are simply melt in the mouth divine! Definitely a destination.
This stall shares its name "Hong Kong 88 Roast Meat Specialist" with another stall in Bukit Batok. But the 'Biscuit Sio Bak ' master, Martin Ong, is here. So you will get your Sio Bak from here.
The Roast Duck here is good. Flesh is tender and flavourful, with a nice dose of that gamey duck taste. But the skin isn't that crispy .
This stall is the neighbor & extension of the famed 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist.
All meats are consistently good! ‘Sio bak ’ (roasted pork ), ‘char siew ’ (BBQ pork ), roast duck
The Lavender Street outlet is also the central kitchen (central roaster) where the meats are charcoal roasted and distributed to the branches.
Agree with 4SQ user Songhua. Noodles undercooked, tough to chew. This was off-peak hours (2:30pm on a working day) with no queues. Cooked by young man with tats on his right arm
The sio bak is really yummy!
Nothing special about the noodles and wantons . Their selling point is really their roasted delights from 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist.
Reviewed in Today on 19 March 2016. The hordes are now aware and the queues can peak at "crazy" levels.
Excellent char siu
Come for the “biscuit sio bak ” by Chef Martin Ong. ‘nuff said!
Excellent roast pork and char siew .
Juicy Char Siew and Cracking roast pork . No poky taste. Excellent...will come back for more
One of the best Cha siew and roast pork in Singapore.
Their wall of fame ????
One of the best roast meats in Singapore
Moved to Lavender St from Tyrwhitt Road around Oct 2020
Wantan noodle is good and both types of roasted pork are good. Roasted duck so so.
The roast pork is the star. Chasiew can be hit/miss. Duck is just average.
Good roasted meat . Short wait .
Long queues even at 2pm. Closed Mondays
Pork was tasty but expensive . Not special enough. Duck was very tasty, if a touch over cooked.
$4.50 Nice????
Says open at 1130am but actually opens later
The Roast meats !
CHAR SIU AND ROAST PORK !!!!
