Boston Common (also known as "the Common") is a central public park in Boston, Massachusetts. It is sometimes erroneously referred to as the "Boston Commons". Dating from 1634, it is the oldest city park in the United States.

You can go ice skating outdoors, at Frog Pond , in the winter. It can get crowded but it's always a good time
Some famous points of interest nearby are: The "Cheers" restaurant , The Statehouse and the Orpheum Theatre which has had rock bands such as Aerosmith, The Scorpions, White Snake and Elvis Costello.
Boston Common is a must-see if you're visiting Boston. Be sure to take the Black Heritage Trail . Tours start at the Robert Gould Shaw and 54th Massachusetts Regiment Memorial.

The Common was used for public hangings up until 1817. In early 1965, 100 people gathered here to protest the Vietnam War, & speeches have been given here by Martin Luther King Jr & Pope John Paul III

Really nice park to visit although quite small in size. It's haunted as well so you might see some friendly spirits!

Boston Common is decorated annually for Christmas , with a tree donated by Nova Scotia, in thanks for Boston's help after the 1917 Halifax explosion. It's a great place to enjoy the holiday season. Read more

If you are in Boston, a load of spots to visit are easily walkable from here. Do enjoy the freedom walk and rest here peacefully .
I love this place but be careful where you step during geese migration season as the roads are full of their droppings.
Did you read E.B. White's Trumpet of the Swan? Parts of the book were based on the summer Swan Boats that float inside the Common.
I recommend going to the Common when this guy is doing his karaoke . Honestly, nothing has helped me desires and decompress more in some time. Gawbless.

The city needs to clean the Commons up. I brought my little ones to the frog pond Saturday. There was trash everywhere, homeless people laying all about, and the whole place stunk of garbage & pot
Ladies: If you're on a bench by yourself, you will be hit on aggressively and repeatedly! Amusing, but if you don't think so, stay in motion or bring a buddy.
I like the idea behind it, but I think visiting in the summer is much better, so they can fill the yard with water for the ducks
