Upscale in an UES kind of way (lots of wood and older people in bowties), but with surprisingly good food. Crab cakes and warm kale and mushroom salad were excellent. Skip the pigs in a blanket .

You need a reservation just to get in the door. Well-dressed gentlemen will ask for the name on your reservation , even if you want to sit at the bar . It's a small space that fills up quickly, so call.

The Old Fashioned is one of the best in NYC. Along with the food and the bar 's stuffed fried olives , you'll leave happy.
