They always have a selection of indie films . I would say, go here if you’re more of a movie buff. The theatres are smaller and cozier than most. Which fits with their film selections .
The VIP experience is worth the extra few bucks. If Cineplex management are reading these tips, you may want to invest some $ in re-covering the seats (the material is wearing off on most seats).
The layout is a cut above other Cineplexes , though it does not feature Timeplay . Caters to a mostly older crowd, but can't be beat when it comes to it's great selection of limited engagements.
The cinema is amazing. The huge recliner seats are so comfortable , it puts other cinemas to shame..
Try the VIP cinema experience. Love being serve while relaxing in my leather seats. Hehehhe
Best place in the Cineplex family to get popcorn . I'm not sure why or if the recipe is different but I know a couple of people who swear by it
Whole theatre is now alcohol friendly ! (not just the VIP) Skip the VIP here it is not as good as at Yonge/Dundas or Don Mills .
We go to this cinema because it is close to our house, but only for regular movies . The VIP experience at this theatre doesn't compare to Yonge-Dundas. Don't bother with VIP here!
Try the comfortable seats and the unwelcome intimacy created by a tiny room and a tiny screen shared with 20 strangers.
Starbucks . The combos are nice but pricy like most movie combos.
Cinema 7 is routinely used to put on events like the Rogers Marketing Awards. It's a fun place to be. Also, this room has a 4K projector . Read more
Ticket lineups too long? There is a ticket machine at the Bloor Street Diner , one level below the theatre, tucked inside the entrance.
Great place to hang out date nite all @ 1 place that includes alchol too
So convenient, so many spots to pick up movie snacks , loving the renovations.
VIP is awesome and worth the VIP fee. Be sure to get there at least a half hour early to get the seat you want and waiter service.
If you're in short and in cinema 8, choose seats closer to the back, or grab a booster seat just outside the doors!
Currently undergoing some renovations. Last time I was there, I noticed that there is a bar/restaurant just past the concession stand.
Love the small VIP rooms where you're waited (no lining up at the snack bar , woot!) And LLBO baby! :)
VIP section is neat, but use passes (from Bloor Street Diner downstairs) or coupons to get in and save.
I love the VIP, popcorn and Licensed bar that deliver fairly decent CND wine to your seat. That's good enough movie viewing perks for me :)
VIP theatres are ridiculously small. The projector is so low that any patron going to the washroom becomes a giant shadow puppet on the screen you just paid $20 to watch a movie on.
Decent sized movie theater . Usually plays the limited releases. Theater seats are slightly grungy and some are in need of repairs.
A great place to watch a film in an even better location. HOOPLAH loves the Varsity!
Interesting film selections , clean theatres and VIP lounge !
NO TALKING DURING THE MOVIE. Also....don't use your goddamn cell phone, even to see if someone texts you. You're not that important and can go 2 hours without looking at your phone!
Parking validation makes for cheap easy access in and out !
VIP rooms are cozy . Come early and have a beer !
Pay for the assigned seat, they're super comf.
Pay the extra couple of bucks to go into a VIP theatre . It's worth every penny.
Get ur tix beforehand and get ur seats earlier than most other theatres.
Less busy than Scotia Theatre or Dundas.
Beer and popcorn ! Can't beat that combo !!
Ppl save seats for others dat don't even there. It's nice n thoughtful but next time at least put a cloth on the seat st I don't hv 2 pass a row of ppl to find out.
VIP rooms are cool. check it out watch a movie in first class :-)
I love VIP treat anytime and will avoid theatre #8.
Don't reserve tickets on weekends, its crowded
You can get $3 parking for 4 hours after 6pm during the week or anytime on the weekend.
Theatre 8 is poorly designed to say the least. No incline! Grab a kids booster seat if you're short !
Supplemental to my previous comment re VIP rooms . They've NEVER cleaned them.
No late night hot dogs , like what's even the point?
It is true. Very flat. Did not enjoy! Was watching Catching Fire.
The VIP screenings aren't worth the money unless you really value avoiding people
Didn't except my 2 for 1 pass on Tuesday, despite the fact that Scotiabank has been for two months.
Nice complex
Avoid the VIP at all costs! VIP 1 has the worst screen I have ever seen in a theater. The screen has actual holes in it - a black grid of tiny black holes that completely ruin the image quality.
VIP is much better!!
Try the stair lights
Saw a film in Varsity 8. The thing's flat, old, and dirty . And not in a good "this is kinda cool" way, more in a "ah, what the fuck did I just step into?!" way.
Do the VIP theatre if you can. Its worth it.
Dont go to the movies with Kyle he ruins everything!
Lovely store, well laid-out, live music right now - pianist, many authors have book signings here, so much more than books with board games, stationary, etc... - Tracy B
A great LCBO! Fast, friendly service, awesome selection of beer. - Chris Torres
Huge theater with tons of screens and several food options, including alcohol, to choose from - Brittany Nicole
Great lunch menu in the Canteen. Wifi too. The Sweet Potato Fries from the Appetizer Menu are amazing! - Mark Crone
Really lovely atmosphere for movie goers, clean and just overall inviting... - byron donaldson
Fantastic Asian inspired restaurant. Awesome Patio in summer and night life. 60% of menu is super Vegan options . - Jeffrey Silver
