Museum Of The Weird is a museum Downtown Austin Austin located in United States.
412 E 6th St Austin , TX 78701 United States
Great way to spend an hour. Kitschy and fun taxidermied conjoined animals, horror wax museum , live shows (mine was magic), and a great gift shop are a fun time.
Pretty much lived up to it's name. Staff were super nice, too. Cool how they had different sections. Since we came early, we had VIP service from one of the last living oddities at the Side Show .
Very campy but cool small exhibit . Have an open mind and you'll enjoy...especially seeing the "Iceman". The last part of the tour is the best but I won't give away the surprise.
Take your time going through the exhibits and be sure to ask the staff about the skeleton in the back. Great spots for fun pictures and don’t forget to get a ticket to see the Minnesota Iceman !
Its a small little shop, but its definitely worth the admission price. The staff enjoys working there and it shows. Definitely ask them about the exhibits . Also, the shop supports lizard rescue
The oddball collection includes a Fiji mermaid , the Minnesota Iceman , and shrunken heads. Take the $4 tour and learn your future from the resident fortune teller .
MUST go here. But first, grab a "pickle shot" next door from the jackalope. Definitely worth the small ticket price. Assortment of odd items and CRAZY sideshow at the end! Remember to tip!
$12 entry to the museum with a tour . The exhibits are interesting, and the tour guide was nice, but kept saying she would be more into it if she wasn't feeling ill. If there's a show there, go then.
Occasional performances on second floor, but worth a look for the awesome oddities on the first floor.
Is a collection of the weird and disturbing and includes such traditional freak show fair as a Fiji mermaid and a frog with teeth, shrunken heads, a preserved two headed cow, and a fortune teller .
Friendly staff and a fun way to support a local place that delivers to keep Austin Weird!
Reminded me of a smaller Ripley's Believe It or Not! Don't miss the show upstairs... It's electric!
It’s kind of a kitschy tourist trap but the show they put on is worth the price of admission.
Lots of oddities . Didn’t do the guided tour do not sure what was missed but some interesting things to look at.
Only interesting part is the small section after the entrance. Rest is a waist of time. Groups are too big, you spend half of the visit waiting for others to take selfies.
If your with someone a little nervous about the.museum of the weird, ask them for the green hand surprise!!!
Very fun place for the whole family at a very good price
Unclear on scope of museum , small, nothing of significance. Can see almost all pictures online.
If you didn't get your daily fill of bizarre just walking down the rest of this street, swing by.
Get the $8 ticket, the show is worth it. ;)
Ask the owner or one of the staff to tell you some of the back story of the stuff there - it more then doubles the value of the $4 ticket!
Make sure to check out Minnesota ice Man!
I bought a Museum shirt and got 2 free admissions , and got a bonus side show act with Eric Odditorium!
Bring your camera for some great photo opps!
The weird makes me come over someday again and again over and over.
So much to look at
A most do! So fun!
Definitely weird but probably not worth the $12 admission.
Take an acting class with world famous acting coach Alan Ray.
Korin is doing the side show
Come during the summer and see the lizards out back!
This chick is supposed to be haunted.
Bigfoot exists!
Take the four dollar tour and get a reading by Pendark
Not worth money nor time.
A very charming (and free) museum right in the heart of downtown. The staff is very knowledgeable and can answer any and all questions about O Henry! - Jessica Jones
I’m not artsy but I pretend to be. The exhibits were thought provoking & imaginative. I love the 3d hanging orbs & singing organ. Only complaint is few displays & over quickly. Fun stuff! - Justin Martin
Best exhibits in Austin including the Gutenberg Bible and the Watergate Notes! Must see for locals and tourists! - Elizabeth Hall
They have FREE WiFi. Ask for the password at the bar. Love the BIG Pizzas. You can get them by the slice too. Cool place! - JAY JAYASURIYA
We got a VooDoo dozen, which is their choice. The donuts are HUGE! My fave was the chocolate glazed custard filled, least fave was the grape soda. The big pink boxes are very enticing packaging! - JenKudu
Cactus Juice's are the bomb. It's worth the extra 50 cents for the strawberry flavor, but any are great! Margaritas with Everclear! Who could ask for anything more. - Jenny Jem George
