Great NYC institution. You can sit down and eat or take out to go. Knishes go for $3.75 and specials are more. Try the mushroom or chocolate . Credit card minimum $10.
The knishes here are really very good. I’ve tried from one other place, and these are better. I’ve tried mushroom , spinach and kasha and they are all delicious
Very nostalgic. We tried the potato spinach there and brought a potato one home. Definitely recommend to eat them there when they are still warm!! Yum!!
Yonah has the most underrated, egg creams in NYC. Egg creams—described as frothy and bubbly and sugary and milky all at once—don't exactly sound delicious, but somehow they are. Read more
Great old-school knish bakery . Great spot for a snack before seeing a movie at the Sunshine. Love the mushroom knish
Cherry cheese knish...delish! The cheese inside is light and fluffy while the dough on the outside is light and flaky.
The traditional potato knish is heaven on a plate! Charming original decor & lovely service
I just love this place, the owners always make me smile.
Looks quite trashy from the street but serves awesome Jewish food! A must try! Get a cabbage knish.
Though you can get a wide variety of knishes here—mashed potato , mushroom , spinach , etc.—their cakelike sweet potato knishes are the key to turning around any bad day. Read more
The vegetable knish's are outta this world but the chocolate knish and the fruit knish's are my fave. Yonah is located between the 2nd Ave Subway stop and Katz's Deli .
Only tried a knish, but it was so good! Warm, thin dough , and garlicky potato .
Established 1910 by immigrant rabbi who sold from a cart. Continuously family owned. Handmade knishes cooked in the basement brick oven ; a dumbwaiter connecting to the shabbily-nostalgic dining room.
Amazing delicious mouth watering blueberry cheese knish . How the hell it took me three years to step by?!? Try potato one as well .
Sweet kind separates them from other knish places. Sweet potato could get sold out early but try other sorry knish if that's the case.
Knishes for around $5. Try potato , mushroom , or jalapeno if they have it. Sweet knishes also!
Yes, traditional knish places with traditional price still exist! Get the spinach knish or the kugal.
Get a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray Soda if they have it.
If you've never had a knish here, you've never had a knish.
One of my favorite foodie places in the city - can't go wrong with the broccoli or mushroom ! Must try at least 2 at a time :D
A lower east side staple. Try the blueberry knish and get it hot
If you like a Knish, this is the best place to go. Get the kasha Knish or the original. (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
No other knishery like this one. Classic NYC.
The 2 flavors I love are the Mushroom and Blueberry Cheese !
It's simple. You must order a latke .
A NY institution that lives up to the hype. I want able to wait until I got home to try it
One world, one taste, one knish!
They should add the title "famous" to their name because these knishes from here are destined to be world famous
Gotta go back and try something sweet or chocolatey - heard good things!
It’s a knish bakery , so why do you microwave the knishes? The place itself is sloppy and seems dirty . Also, I had the worst egg cream ever made. How is that possible?
Really tasty and affordable for a quick meal .
The chocolate dessert knish is quite possibly the best chocolate treat NYC has to offer!
Taste the old world at Yonah Schimmel’s, where knishes have been made since 1910.
Love the sweet potato and cheese knishes
The jalapeño and mozzarella is delicious!
Would've loved to try one of their knishes. Too bad the guy completely ignored us and our order.
Tasty. Make sure you try their homemade yogurt .

Our last stop on the tour is a sweet one! Pick your favorite mini-pastry and place a bulk order if you'd like to share it with others. I'm a cannoli girl myself, but there are many great choices. - Adrienne Cooper
