While there are many good pignolis all over the city , the best I've found are at Veniero's, the venerable Italian pastry shop—since 1894!—in the East Village . Read more
This neighborhood institution is great for gifts for locals and out of towners alike or for an evening coffee. The pastry selection is endless, and a great scoop of gelato or ice cream for only $2.50!
Fruit Supreme Cake : They describe this as a 'fruit triumph' and they're not wrong. Amber sponge cake delicately infused with raspberry brandy , filled with bavarian cream and fresh fruits .
The NY cheesecake is amazing!!! Very strong in taste & texture, both creamy and sweet. The strawberries are very fresh. No crust at the bottom but I didn’t miss it either. One slice is A LOT
Pro tip: get a box full of the small pastries when going to a picnic or dinner - everyone will love you for it.
Amazing cakes for such great prices. To make the choice easier for you, definitely go with the strawberry shortcake - it's to die for!
Far & away, the best Italian pastry bakery in NYC. Must try for first timers: the New York Cheesecake or a Chocolate Filled Cannoli .
This place has been dishing out Sicilian pastries for almost 120 years and serving espresso before it was all the rage. All the pastries are mouth watering, but save room for the mini tarts !
Delicious cheesecake . I liked it without the crust. It was very dense yet fresh, the strawberries were very good as well . Highly recommend
Best sfogliatelle outside of Napoli. This place can get busy with tourists but it's worth it. Just remember to get a number from the ticket machine on your right when you walk in - don't be a square
Great Desserts in this warm family-owned Italian bakery in downtown Manhattan.
There is a caffe in the back and sometimes you will walk through the front and think it is crowded but just scooch your way to the back there is always tables. You can't go wrong with anything u order
Got the vanilla and chocolate cannoli , both excellent. Really authentic old school NYC bakery . Get the Rum Baba if you like your pastries really boozy .
The Café where, in 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Larry stops in Veniero’s to buy a French baguette that he would eventually use to beat a man attacking Ricky Gervais in the NY subway. Find out more: Read more
This old school Italian dessert bar oozes nostalgia but has kept up with the times by offering a few gluten free and some dairy free desserts . Definitely a fun place to load up on sugar.
Pickup a box of assorted cookies to impress everyone at the party you’re going to. Or cheesecake . Or strawberry shortcake . Get something for your walk home too. Arrive early, there’s usually a line .
Excellent assortment of traditional favorites. Always consistently great for decades. Take home or sit in for these superb treats!
One of the best Italian bakeries in NYC. Get any of their cakes , cookies or pastries & a coffee !
Fruit Supreme (brandy soaked cake w fruit slices top) and cheesecakes are excellent choices. But you MUST try their Black Forest cake :) rich moist cake & subtle cherries chocolate & cream. <3
An institution in the East Village , love their tile floor.. and their NY cheesecake !
A century old establishment. Outstanding quality and taste from cheese cake , mousse to cakes and pastries . It is more expensive than cheese cake factory . Cool place for dating
Delicious cheesecake ! American style is creamier and denser (think a better version of Junior’s) whereas Italian style is a bit lighter and more aromatic. Keep well in the fridge .
What can I say that hasn't been said before! Forget little Italy or Arthur Ave. This is the place for Italian pastry , cookies and cakes .
Make sure you take a number as soon as you enter. They are super busy. They have a great variety of delicious and cute dessert . Very good quality. I love this place. They can also make custom cakes ! <3
I personally love the strawberry shortcake , but you can't miss with anything in this place!
Our last stop on the tour is a sweet one! Pick your favorite mini-pastry and place a bulk order if you'd like to share it with others. I'm a cannoli girl myself, but there are many great choices.
AMAZING! Too many options to chose from while standing under an enchanting stained glass ceiling. Go for the lobster roll , cheesecake or cannoli
An old-school cafe serving up a wide variety of desserts , pastries , and coffee . Wait in line if you want to be seated, or take your order to go.
Over a century old, it’s no surprise that the chocolate dipped cannoli is made to perfection. Get a mouthful of that decadent cream as you bite into the dense, crunchy chocolate shell.
I had the chocolate lobster tail . It had a nice and crunchy exterior and the chocolate cream wasn’t too overwhelming.
Historic Sicilian pastry shop . Very tasty but priced and packaged as a specialty so makes for a good gift or some other special treat.
East Village institution. Certainly in the top 3 for the best cookies in NYC.
Old school deliciousness. It's like that place you used to go with your grandma. Comparable to Venetië on Rijnstraat in Amsterdam.
The rainbow cake is amazing. They only serve it on the weekends. If u like rainbow cookies thus is the dessert for you. The strawberry shortcake is also great!
They have a dining area - windows open up in summer. Thought the tiramisu was just ok. A lot to choose from though here to find something outstanding! Worth a comeback.
Loved the zuppe inglese! Delicious rum sponge cake concoction . Pro tip: skip the line & eat there. Just go to the back and get a table
Loooove the cheesecakes both NY Cheesecake which is heavier and the Italian cheesecake which is much lighter. Lines are almost always long but flowing
Get the lobster tail and pignoli cookies
Cheesecake place I'd always visit whenever I am in NYC.
The Italian cheesecake here is my favorite dessert on the planet, but you can't go wrong with anything, really.
The cake slices are huge, perfect for splitting. Cute interior too.
Great authentic Italian pastries . Depending on the time of day it can be super busy. Sit down is nice but take away is just as good
Everything at Veniero's is amazing but it's the cannoli 's and Italian cheesecake that keep us coming back! Don't miss out on this East Village gem.
Established 1894. Continuously family owned and operated. Mostly original decor, extra room added in 1984 and the oven changed to gas. Famous for traditional Italian confections . Appears in TV shows.
My sweet tooth is stupid'! Already ate the rainbow cookies ... usually, I eat those immediately after purchase 😋
A real and honorable 'pasticceria italiana,' the best I've found in NYC, so far. I can't get enough of their mini cannoli ! The tea cookies are also great! And their boxes, so simple and elegant!
Two occasions they did not give me the right pastries . it's not like you can really double check once you pay for the purchase because they tie it up right away. Still amazing pastries .
All the pastries are wonderful. The cannolis are my favorite. They also have great coffee and gelato
The Torta Di Mandorle is possibly the best cake Veniero's offers. Enjoy it with coffee in the beautiful parlor with stained glass ceiling
The cannoli is my favorite! Espresso and hot chocolate are also classics
Favourite bakery in Korea Town! All pastries are fresh daily and their morning coffee and croissant combo is gold. - Sanam Lakhwara
Pancakes were just fine! But I absolutely loved their sugar cured beacon, so weird but so good!! - Elsie Tousse
You can't go wrong with either the tiramisu or the chocolate mousse cake. Both delicious. - Vallente Romasanta
Fried Chicken dinner! Just get 6 friends and dig in. Southern Style and Korean. Delicious. - Kevin Rickert
