15 February: One of the oldest natural history collections in the country , founded in 1828, it is a testament to the British collectors of the Victorian age, including a Tasmanian tiger and a dodo.
Free entry with lots of good exhibits . Good to take a sketchbook here and spend the morning. The people are great to speak to. Small museum but lots to see.
Free entry . This lovely little museum lives off donations! For a small sum, you can sponsor an exhibit and they will put your name next to it. They also invite you to various events for members.
A real treasure. Fairly small, but great for an hour or so with the kids. Tip: there's no air-con, so avoid on really hot days.
The Micrarium is my favourite part of the museum ! So beautiful and inspiring!

A great collection of preserved animals, including some extinct species. Warning: prepared dead animals in formaldehyde. Might be considered "gross" by some.
The collection includes remains of many rare and extinct animals, such as a dodo and the skeleton of the zebra-like quagga, which was hunted out of existence in the 1880s. Read more
Jaws of a great white shark and a rhino skeleton , pretty amazing stuff to see, small museum , you can see everything in under half an hour
Just reopened. Full of skeletons , mounted animals and specimens preserved in fluid. Highlights include newly discovered Dodo bones, Blaschka glass models of invertebrates, and interactive technology. Read more

Free entry with really rare and cool specimens but I loved the micro specimens the most
